20% is the most common for front windows, Illegal, but not too dark.

5% on the rear and 1/4 windows.

And yes the windshield strip is a good thing.

No, don't get the dot matrix tinted, they have a vinyl they can put on that to make it look better.

I think that covers all the questions that are forth coming.

/thread.

Well it looks like Michigan doesnt have any window tint laws. I think 20% on rear window, 35% on the side windows, and a 5% windshield strip looks good.

if they dont have any tint laws then get 5% on all the windows... i have 3% on mine and i love it but some may say its too dark. 5 or 10% is perfect for most people.

I would say 5% on rear, rear sides and windshield strip, 15% on doors if you have no tint laws.

Probably $150-$200 including the windshield strip and vinyl in the back.

Thats what i really expected to pay.

I think im going 20% on the side windows. I just dont know i how dark i want the rear window.
I just think 5% is a little too dark.

I'm pretty sure we do have tint laws. I've heard of people getting tickets for tint around here.

Rabbit hit it on the head. 5% on the back shouldn't be too dark, but i will admit i have trouble backing up at night sometimes with my 5%. 20% is perfect for the sides, illegal but light enough that you won't get harassed by cops.

yes they do, you can only have a 4 inch strip on the top of the front two windows of any car, and as dark as you want on the back windows and rear. not to call you out but i got popped my a bored cop looking for something to do on a sunday afternoon in "nowwheresville" michigan cost me $70 bucks cause i wasnt about to rip the tint off.
