Our tanks are 15.7 gallons Closest I've ever gotten was around 270 or 280 on a tank of straight interstate the entire time.

300 mile out of a tank of gas is pretty damn good if you ask me.....I can only get about 260 per tank driving around like normal...if I'm lucky. If I get on it at all that's out the window. If I'm cruising on the freeway I can pull over 300 miles, but I don't really take my car on too many long trips so that doesn't happen very often.

Did the 300 mile include city driving or was that strictly highway?

Does anybody know when the "Low gas" light turns on? I've closed it in to around 3 gallons left but the owner's manual doesn't state it.

I can get 300+ with my car, way better than when i had the 4.6.
Also that is great gas mileage.

Only time i ever got 300+ a tank was when I did 90-110mph in full heavy downpour on the interstate to my destination and back.

Jon, the correct way to check your mileage is to fill up, reset your trip odometer, drive till near empty, fill back up, then divide how many gallons it just took to fill it into the miles you just drove.

Example,
John Q. Stangowner fills up his tank.
He then drives 225 miles.
Fills up with 12.5 gallons.
225 divided by 12.5=18 MPG

my cobra in atlanta traffic would average about 185 miles to a tank and I would fill backup with about 13 gallons which equates to 14mpg. I would fillup about 2.5 to 3 times a week at $42 a fillup. Now with my focus I fillup once a week at about $29 a fillup. Big cost savings for me

I get around 200 per tank, but I fill up shortly after it goes on E, so I figure I have about 20+ miles left in her. All city driving, lots of stop'n'go construction, if you know Michigan roads during the summer :-\
