300 miles a tank?
that was my most recent mileage...ran it from full all the way to E and got almost 300 miles on the dot. is that good? how much mpg is it? (i dont know how big my tank is, i think its 12-13 gallons)

Our tanks are 15.7 gallons Closest I've ever gotten was around 270 or 280 on a tank of straight interstate the entire time.

i think E shows at 14 gallons though, which would be 21mpg. If you did go to bone dry, with the mods you got, that is pretty fuggin awesome. City driving? highway? i get roughly 17-18mpg |
300 mile out of a tank of gas is pretty damn good if you ask me.....I can only get about 260 per tank driving around like normal...if I'm lucky. If I get on it at all that's out the window. If I'm cruising on the freeway I can pull over 300 miles, but I don't really take my car on too many long trips so that doesn't happen very often.
Did the 300 mile include city driving or was that strictly highway? |
Does anybody know when the "Low gas" light turns on? I've closed it in to around 3 gallons left but the owner's manual doesn't state it.

I can get 300+ with my car, way better than when i had the 4.6.
Also that is great gas mileage. |
wow...and i think 250 is good for my sixer...but it is all city stop and go...alot of stop and go
|
Only time i ever got 300+ a tank was when I did 90-110mph in full heavy downpour on the interstate to my destination and back.
lol |
Damn guys...I only get like 160 per tank...sometimes 140 but it is all short trip city driving. Most I ever got was 278 from all highway on my trip to HH Island. Are my low numbers for city an idication something is wrong? I wouldnt say I am light footed either.

Jon, the correct way to check your mileage is to fill up, reset your trip odometer, drive till near empty, fill back up, then divide how many gallons it just took to fill it into the miles you just drove.
Example, John Q. Stangowner fills up his tank. He then drives 225 miles. Fills up with 12.5 gallons. 225 divided by 12.5=18 MPG |
John Q. gets pretty good milage...:poke:
|
my cobra in atlanta traffic would average about 185 miles to a tank and I would fill backup with about 13 gallons which equates to 14mpg. I would fillup about 2.5 to 3 times a week at $42 a fillup. Now with my focus I fillup once a week at about $29 a fillup. Big cost savings for me:D

i just drove 270miles and filled up(the light hadn't even come on yet) and filled her with 12.002 gallons. so 22mpg aint' bad. that was with only a few times getting on it.

I get around 200 per tank, but I fill up shortly after it goes on E, so I figure I have about 20+ miles left in her. All city driving, lots of stop'n'go construction, if you know Michigan roads during the summer :-\
|
200 a tank unless I am really screwing around. My MPG is craptastic!
