speedometer stopped workn
heres how it happened....
my speedometer worked
disconnect battery
take off stock h pipe
attach offroad h pipe
put on mil eliminators on and adjusted them and zip tied them down
attached wires in front by manifolds. (i pushed them down from on top of the engine bay while my dad attached them underneath)
drive it, speedometer doesnt work
if this matters i have 3.73 gears with a speedcal that a ford techinician installed awhile ago. but everything worked until install of h pipe
someone help immediatly. if u got anymore questions asks

the reason for disconnecting the battery was when i was doing the manifolds to h pipe i accidently hit this red wire..... and it sparked so i took off the battery. heres pics of what i hit. in the first pic u are lookn at the manifolds to h pipe. now look at the black rubber thing............ follow that to the second pic. now there is a red wire connected to it. its real thick........thats what sparked. i have a line loc on the car but that is located up by the front bumper. help me out. i dont even know what the hell the red wire goes to.

i just dont think a fuse would blow ironically at the same time i did the midpipe swap. i was lookn somewhere else and saw there was a vss (vehicle speed sensor) located right by the rear o2 sensors. my dad did those so maybe he accidently pulled it out. ill get u a link to the page taht shows u what im talkn about.

If you do disconnect the vss from the tranny, your speedo and odometer will not work, it reads electrical pulses from the vss, sends it to the computer and the computers tell the speedo of how fast your doing and it does the odometer, i would check that out. It's towards the rear of the tranny, driverside, if it is plugged in, then wiring from the speedcal must be loose, disconnected or your speedcal is broken.
The thick red wire is the main 12v source from your batter to the starter relay, that is attached to the starter to start your car.

i looked at the fuses under the steeringwheel from the side and they all looked good........ the last thing i wanna do is jack the car back up, but i gotta. and the car is hot right now so i gotta wait like always. i hope i find it soon and its an easy fix

there's another fuse box under the hood that houses many critical systems fuses. I'm not sure it the speedo goes through 1 but if it does you need to check those too. It should be in a black box just to the rear of the battery before the driver side strut tower.

alright im gunnna go look through those too. already did but i mighta missed it. tonight im going to the track adn im gunna see if anyone there knows whats going on with it. maybe ill race too. but for now ill just guess on speeds and put 0 miles on my car. lol

service engine soon light says circuits and output speed sensor
so its a relay and hte vss. if u guys kno where i can buy the vss lemme know
