do the subframe conncetors need to be painted?...i noticed that on stangmods.com..they have black powercoated and bare steel (the same ones on MT)....

If you want em painted, have em painted but they sit under your car providing stabilization. id leave em however they came...

I would just get the cheapest ones....like Matt said they sit under your car if you want to paint them undercoat them what ever floats your boat

but its bare steel..not stainless...correct? so wouldnt they rust if they're unprotected?

ehhhh yes and no........If your so worried about it just get some undercoating. Some of your underbody of your car is bare steel with undercoating .

Id spray paint them after they are welding, just to put a barrier between the metal and rust.

You need to paint over the welds and any areas that are unfinished or you'll get rust started.

Some come powder coated or painted but that's for protection while shipping and the installer will usually grind off the paint in the places he's going to weld so you get a nice clean weld. Failing to paint them is not just ugly but a bad idea in general.
