Default Will this exhaust work??

Ok so i'm going to go with longtube headers on my 89GT, but i would like the exhaust to come out of the side of my car in front of the rear wheels.. (without buying a side exhaust kid, i'm just gonna have some pipes bent) so if i get long tube headers, can i buy the "short" X-pipe so that i have room to make the bends without having a maze of exhaust under my car? is that what the short x-pipes are made for?? someone let me know!! Thanks

shorty x-pipes are made for longtube headers..so you need that if your going with longtubes.

I am not a exhaust specialist but if you take it to a shop that specializes in exhaust then they should be able to bend the pipes and make it work..I just dont think it looks good unless it's on a ROUSH..but you should look into the spintech side exit exhaust.

Those spintech kits cost a fortune, it would be much easier for me to just take it to an exhause place and probably $300 cheaper too

You may want to check out your State & Local laws before you go thu all that money, time, and trouble. Side-Exhaust may not be legal, as it's not here in Virginia.

why would it not be legal.. or rather why is it not legal in your state?? i figure it has cats and mufflers so what is illegal about it? laws are stupid anyway, in New York City it is illegal to carry an ice cream cone in your back pocket on Sunday... give me a break:wallbash:

I'd have to ask my father to be 100% sure (He and I were actually talking about this just a couple weeks ago), but I think off the top of my head, it was either noise or safety concerns, of the exhaust fumes being vented to close to both driver and car cabin.
