To lower a car PROPERLY you should replace the springs front and back, shocks and struts (with heavier valved models like Tokico, Koni, Bilstein.. use Fox body struts to get a 1/2" of bump travel back), MM caster camber plates, bumpsteer kit.
You may not need the CC plates or the BS kit but I would do it anyway. They only help matters when properly installed. Depends really on how low you drop it. Don't go more than 2" or you'll trash the handling. If you go to heavier springs on stock shocks/struts you'll be under-damped and your car will handle much worse than it should. Getting caster camber plates helps assure you can get a good alignment that won't wear your tires out too fast.
