FWIW, I have had and seen at least 3 completely different engines have better than average cylinder preasure and still have the same problem. S-10 4cyl.,chevy LT-1, and a 350 with aluminum heads. First instinct is water in the exhaust. That works for old iron blocks and heads. Hope it's not your problem. I did find 2 of the problems by checking coolant preasure while the engine is runing.

Well we think its a head gasket, or head, or the block is cracked, we gotta open er up and see, also we were looking at pics of heads on karkraft and they looked like they had water jackets in what looked like the exhaust manifold, does this mean maybe we have a bad seal there cuz the exhaust smells sweet and there is the feeling of antifreeze ont the rearbumper, this could be our solution if a seal in the manifold awas busted, that would be where all our water is going as we have filled it up over seven times

I do the same always keep the original to compare. I never buy stuff from autoparts stores only oil,wax etc. When it comes to engine parts I try to get stock from Ford or a better aftermarket one from a known Mustang part supplier. I have had issues like you in the past with auotzone, discount, pep boys etc.
