Default Raptor Shiftlight install.. again :)

So I got my new shiftlight hooked up (in red this time and I LOVE it). Just a quick history.. I use to have a blue one and it worked great.. except it caused the SES light to come on and the code it threw was P1233 "fuel pump disabled". Obviously it wasn't disabled because the light worked fine and the car worked great. I got annoyed with the SES light and sold the Raptor shiftlight but now I'm trying another to see if I can get it to work.

I mounted it in a different spot this time.. I adjusted the light some after this picture was taken so the light looks more at the driver and not to the right.

I took the car for a drive and I haven't got the SES light again yet.. the first time I got it the SES light pretty much came on while I was pulling out of the driveway. I'll keep you guys posted and let you know if that pesky light comes back on.

What I did differently this time in the install... it's hooked up EXACTLY how it was in the past and EXACTLY how raptor says too. Except I read something about the clips I used to connect the shiftlight to the wires in the PCM. I noticed on Raptor's site it now says NOT to ues the blue clips.. which is what I used in the past and it's what a lot of people seem to have used because the install pictures even have those blue clips in there lol. So I went and picked up some of the red ones and decided to give this a try and see if the clips will make the difference or not.

Christie, if you use the screw on the left, it is a lot more direct at the driver. I tried it both ways and it seems to work a lot better on the left side.

hmm.. I actually don't have any problems with it being on the right screw, I can see it just fine though I do see how putting it to the left would help. I like it being by the tach /shrugs

The reason why it's not there is because with my old shiftlight I had it mounted to the pillar.. and I dont' want to drill any holes at all in my dash.. so I used velcro so I could take it down adn adjust it however I want. Well the velcro piece that was stuck to the shiftlight with some kinda glue actually melted off last summer because my car sits in the sun for long periods of the day while im at work. I didn't want to go through this again, that's why it's mounted where it is. Plus I love it right up there by the tach.
