Good Morning Everyone. Question about MAC's Straight Shot C.A.I. for you.
Hey everyone, hope today's been treating you well so far.
I have a question or two about what your thoughts/opinions are between these two "versions" (for lack of a better term) of MAC's Straight Shot C.A.I.
There's this one: (Available thru MustangTuning.com of course )
Mac Stainless Steel Straight Shot Air System (2005 GT)
http://www.mustangtuning.com/mac-str...t-2005-gt.html
It's essentially "just" the cone and heat-shield. Cost $179.95 ($199.99 elsewhere. Thank you very much MustangTuning!)
Then there's this one: ( I haven't seen this on MustangTuning.com, that's why the link goes to MAC's web-site)
2005 GT Mass Air System, Complete to Throttle Body
http://www.macperformance.com/store/...roduct_ID=1217
From MAC and a couple of other places, it costs $299.50. That's a good $120.00 more.
What I'm trying to guage, is whether or not there's any gains to be had, whether it's performance, reliabilty, functionality, etc that would justify spending an extra $120.00 for the second one.

neither one of them are worth the money, get a k&n intake. with the mac intake i believe you will need a tune but the k&n you wont. either a k&n filter or the whole k&n fipk. just dont buy mac...

Stay Away From MAC Products! They are so cheap. I had a MAC intake and I found that the K&N intake is MUCH better quality. They use a much better design than the flashy crap that hurts performance. Your car is VERY sensitive to changes. You only want to go with an intake that DOESNT require computer tuning. The reason that these intakes need computer tuning is because they screw up the factory parameters. The tuning shouldnt be needed.
