Default mph numbers

Ok I went to the track lastnight and went my average e.t. 13.50 13.60. The humity was 88% so it's not to far off of my best 13.30 's with no humity. But why can't I get more than 100.97 mph? That is the most I have ever had. I can go 13.70 @100mph or a 13.30@100mph What mph do most 99+ gt's get with bolt on? I average 1.85 to 1.95 60' times. I thank I should have about 103mph

wow, it sounds like your car is falling on its face in the upper band or higher gears. i trap at 102-104 with mine at low 13.5s with 60s of 2.0. does your diablo have a 100 mph limiter on it?

I was stuck at 101-102 before I got my tune and long tubes. Now I trap 104-106. What rpm are you shifting at?

As a general rule, mph=hp. The more hp, the higher speed you will trap. LT's and a good tune would probably help. But you have to ask yourself, is it worth 2 mph?

Default mph

I am shifting at redline. Next time at the track I was going to try shifting at 5500 to 5700 instead of 6000. My 1/8 mile mph is 79-80. I have had the car tuned by eld performance in maryland. It felt real good for about a week then it felt normal again. What I mean by "felt good" is the throttle response. It was reving like it was a 4v. I am going to put it on a dyno in two weeks. What could make the car feel different with anychanges?

6,000 might be a little high for your mod's. 5,700 - 5,800 should be about right.

What about your slicks? What psi do you run them at and were you spinning at launch or was the car bogging off the line?

Thats kinda hard to believe. A 1.8 60ft with stock tires and suspension?? I guess its possible with a bada$$ driver but I could never get below 2.00 with my stock tires.
Yes definately get steeda pulleys. It was the one of the best bolt on mods I ever made. The car pulls harder through the whole powerband, gets better MPG, and the car seemed to run smoother too. Dont get the piggyback style. You might gain 2mph or maybe 3

Man thats crazy. I believe it now. What were you racing? He ran almost the same E.T. but with much less HP and a slower 60ft.

Okay, I don't know where I came up with you running slicks. What rpm you launching at? The 60' time is very good for stock tires but helps explain your lack of trap speed. You are getting about all you can out of your set up, drop some weight and get the pullies. I picked up 1-2 mph with my Steeda pullies and another 1-2 by pulling the passenger side headlight and removing the stock air box and running an open K & N filter.

I ordered the pulleys from here early today.removing the right headlight wont do anything for me if I have a fender cold air intake right? I leave at about 2800rpms and slide it out. What horse power does it sound like I have?250-260 maybe. Also what belt do I need for the new pulleys?

If you have the fender cold air kit then no removing the headlight will not help. You re-use the stock belt.
250 sounds about right, although I have trapped 107 with 250 rwhp. It's not just the horsepower it's the gearing, weight, tune etc.

It works when I first spray itand as soon as I let off it flashes three times. And it wont go again. I believe it means it's going lean. I check the plugs and they are fine. I hate the system. I am going to get the injectors and fuel pump but just don't have the money to keep putting into my car. I also race a motorcycle it hard to put money in both. It even goes lean with the 80shoot.But if I only trap 100 mph on motor that mean I only make around 250-260hp so if I spray a 80shoot I should still be in the 350max of the injectors write? Could something not be hook up right? I had talked to a few guys and they said there is no way that a 2v can go 18to1 and not blow up. They said that the way eld tested the system most have been wrong. But know matter what it does not work so I just don't touch it. Oh yea and about the track MIR is one of the best in the country. I go to alot of track to race my bike and I see some bad tracks. But I even made the car hook at Capitol which is one of the worse.

Damn 18 to 1 is kind of radical Sorry to here that you've had so much problems with the systems. Ive had mine for 5yrs and it runs flawless! My car does run lean also but its cause I never tuned it my A/F is at 14:7:1 When i spray the Custom nossle 100shot my system cuts off in 3rd gear? but works fine with the 70-80 shot all thru the 1/4mile and Ive added a new fuel pump!

Maybe you should have your module checked? something is definetly causing it to shut down.

Also check thy wires going to the O2 sensors and your O2s, could have a bad one?

How do I check the module? I don't thank it is the module because I know it is spraying, if anything it is not getting fuel. What should I check on the o2 sensor wires. I never changed the 02sensor but they should be fine.I am haveing the same problem as you. It stops after 3rd gear, but then it feels as if it slow it down on motor after that. I was going to try to spray it and as soon as I go into 4th gear hit the switch to turn it off. I real don't thank it is a good idea. But I may try it anyway

The computer module i would send off to Python perf. and have them check it out! "Jose" seems to be really easy to work with! The O2s I ve herd that can give bad readings if not working properly but you would normally get a CES light too? i would say check the connections and ensure you are getting a solid connection on your O2s and the injectors! I had a problem with mine on my initial install and it was the actual power cable or "wire" connected to the battery was not making good contact!

That feel of loss power is probably just the car coming off the Juice? mine feels the same it just falls on its face! iam telling you when you get the full blast your car will definetly hit 12s in the 1/4 especially with those 60fts your pulling my car finally hit a 12.9 @ 106.9 w/1.90 60ft. at over 4900ft above sealevel, so I know you can do it easily. I also thought that my MPH was kind of low My n/a #s 14.01 -14.4s @ 96-98mph. but everyone says its the altitude!

Trap speed is a funny thing. Alot of guys get hung up on what they do or don't trap. I like the fact that you already are cutting damn good sixty foot times on street radials. I was at Gateway this last Tuesday night running in the test and tune. I was approached by no fewer than 5 Mustang guys wanting to know how I was trapping 106+ in a 02 GT that runs n/a. First off I could not figure out how everyone knew my car was n/a then I realized they must have heard the announcer. I run alot over there so he always gives my name etc. over the p.a. system. These guys all were impressed that I was trapping 106 but what they should have been looking at was my 60' times and e.t.'s. MPH really doesn't mean crap it's who gets to the end first and I won 14 of 15 races. You are on the right track with your driving skills, the trap speed will come along. Mine really went up after my tune even though my HP is low I think the tune and gear change really kicked it in the seat of the pants. Keep up the good work with those 60's.

I install the steeda pulles today. Don't feel a differance yet, but have not drive hard much. I have a quick question for Blue02gt. What sparkplugs are you running? I put in a set of ngk tr6's which is a step colder. I have them in because of the nitrous, but the nitrous does not work so I was wondering if I should take them out. I have not lost mph, but I have not been in the 30's since I put them in. The weather has not been as good, so I don't know if it is the weather or the plugs. I had the car tuned but don't realy trust the tune. I check it today and the spark is all the way up and so is the fuel for the wot. If anyone else has had their car tuned and check the tune, is the spark all the way up and also the fuel?

Mine still has the original factory plugs in it, 50K on them. I have a set of replacements that I'm going to put in when I install my cams. I don't know if your plugs are the culprit, I have heard the same question before but can't remember if they were an issue when running n/a.
