Default Drag racing?

Hi,

i have just started drag racing and im am a bit confused what is the perfecr revs to take off at.i have a 5 speed ford ranger whitch red lines a 5000 rpm.what should i rev up to to get the fastest takeoff but wont hurt my engine?i have been taking off around 3000 rpms

Hey guys this is my first post. Im learning how to use this forum well anyway.
My questions is i have a 2007 Mustang GT with some bolt ons and the best time
ive been able to get at the stip is 14:00 flat...=( What am i doing wrong?
