1/4 MILE TRACK
Hey guy/girls i need some help/advice on how to drag race.
I have a 2007 Mustang GT (5 speed) with bbk shorty headers , K&N air intake kit, 373 gears, Diablo sport predator, magnaflow off road X pipe and the SALEEN center exhaust wich is also magnaflow.
And my question is how come my best times are 14sec flat?
What am i doing wrong?

You just need to work on your launch and shifting fast. When it comes to drag racing you have to go and practice a lot. Checkout the drag strip sticky at the top of this section for tips at the track. Your car should go faster then 14's bone stock with a decent driver.

Well 32,000rpms could cause a few problems.
Try reving it to 3,000-3,500rpms on street tires and learn to let the clutch out slowly and smoothly while feathering the throttle to keep wheel spin at a min. A little wheel spin at first is ok as this will help to keep the car from bogging. However you don't want to sit there and smoke the tires. Every car is different so just go and experiment and see what works for your car.
