Default 11's in the 1/4

hello all! this is my first post n ima newbee from philly, my question is can u get a 98gt to run 11's in the 1/4 mile?
my mod list is:
pi heads w/ pi cams
accufab t/b and plen
mac long tubes
mac h-pipe
flowmaster 40's cat back
u/d pullies
k&n fipk
4.10's gears

now if i get the heads ported wit vt stage 2 cams, 24 lb injectors n fuel pump could i get into 11's??

also what kind of suspension work should i do?

i was also thinkin of puttin on moser 31 axels and 31 spline differential?

as u can see im tryin to break 11's with no power adders, help!!

Not with those mods. You would need nitrous for low 12's and maybe high 11's

With those mods and slicks you can go low 12's maybe high 11's on a car thats had some good weight reduction done. You should be fine with stock injectors and fuel pump though as 19# are good for low 300hp levels, but an upgrade might be worth it to 22pinks or 24# ones.

It really depends on the weight of your car and the driver if it can touch 11's or not. but it will be close.
Well the noraml 2v guys with full bolt on's,traction can go high 12's a ported head full bolt on cammed car with weight reduction should be able to touch 11's i would hope.

Honestly out of everything you need, it's mostly suspension and some weight reduction. I would go with a tubular K member to start, and get some upper and lower control arms for the rear. Get the 31 spline axles and differential, along with a stronger clutch, the stock ones won't hold slicks for very long. With the slicks and the power, although little, you are making right now i think you should be somewhere in the mid to low 13 range. Then i would throw on a set of ported heads and a vicious cam, not to mention upgrading the fuel pump. Then throw a simple 100-150 shot of nitrous, with a very good tune, bam baby, 11's. But with that suspension set up and N/A power you should be well into the 12's. Nitrous = 11's

Suspension+weight reduction+hp = low 1/4's

There is a guy on this site running 12's (high) with an automatic w/o stock cams and no power adder, but he has the right suspension work done and some weight pulled.

With your mods, I think 11's is possible with a drag suspension, slicks and some weight pulled, but it would not be easy.

You will need to get your weight down to 3,000 lbs. The key will be your suspension, you will have to 60' in the low 1.6's or better. You will need ported heads and Comp 270's or Vt stage 2 cams. I know several guy's who run very low 12's or very high 11's in good air with this type of set up. Unless you are wanting a track only type car I would advise a power adder so you can keep your interior, radio etc. intact.

If yuo want 11's you will need more 4.30's at least. A set of slicks. Suspension work, Battle Boxes welded in. I would throw some skinnies in the front. Shave as much weight as possible.. If you can get it to 3000 or less you will be looking good.

You will need the bigger injectors for sure.. and some serious heads and cams..

so basically... No! 11's are a long way down the horsepower trail and your car isn't there yet. I'd venture to guess that if you slapped in enough suspension work to hook ALL of the power, and left the line spraying a 125 shot you would probably still languish in the low 12's until your car goes on a serious diet and loses 2-300lbs.

For suspension... either backhalf it with a paralell 4-link (stops being street oriented that way) or a torque arm and panhard bar package. With the torque arm and slicks you should be able to plant the power and after that it's all in your ability to powershift.

Still... if you want 11's, your car in its current iteration is not the thing to get you there. You'll need LOTS more power and traction and you'll have to lose some serious car weight.

Good luck. Hope you hit your goals.

FYI... a 5.4 swap should be able to get you there with just a 125-150 shot of nitrous and some serious clutch feathering. In fact then your 4.10 gears would be WAAAAY too much and you'd probably want something like 3.55 or 3.73 at most.
