Last night i am driving and i see a mach...i think it was 03/04...well we race a coulpe of times...3rd gear drop i pulled a car on him and when i hit fourth slowly pulling...did the same thing again and same results...now we did a fourth gear drop around where u would be in fourth gear i didn't pull a car but pulled real slow..now i can't believe i won..it had the rims, the black spoiler, mach 1 on the back and the hood scoop... my mods are only cai,bbk longtubes, bbk o/r h, flowmaster cat-back, and some kind of aftermarket spark plugs...i test drive one the other day (mach1) and only 2nd gear seem to have more power than my gt(2002) 5 speed..does anyone have any idea y this is...

 

There was only a 03/ 04 Mach one unless you're talking about the 70's.

The "Mach 1" either wasnt a Mach 1 or the driver sucked.

it was 03/04..thats what i figured..but hard to say sorry driver from a roll..possible, i think more on the lines of it not being a mach..maybe gt made to look like a mach...i raced a few ws6's too and they had bout 3 to 4 cars on me after 4th..any ideas on this? maybe my car has something else done to it and i don't know it or a factory freak....but i klnow there is no way i can't beat a mach with my mods

 

Anything can happen on the streets. Since you raced from a roll, I'd say a inexperienced drive was behind the wheel of the mach. Congrats on your wins though.

naa i don't think i have gears...thats something i can tell..i drove alot of ccars with gears...i dunno though...fake mach..aren't they only 315hp though?

i looked up the specs and they only have 310...so they sholdn't be able to beat me that bad...like i said i test drove one and the only gear the seemed better then my car was second, third seemed like a dog...ohh well...i hate to be that guy with a ncie guy that can't drive it

 

Aye, but stock machs dyno 275 rwhp / 295 rwtq, 3.55 gears and are low to mid 13 sec cars. Machs friggin love bolt-ons and can see pretty good gains with the basics. Mine dynos 303 rwhp / 322 rwtq with just CAI, x-pipe and CB.

Stock GTs dyno 215-220 rwhp / 240ish rwtq, 3.27 gears and are low 14 sec cars.

With your mods, and I'm just guessing here, I'd say your around 240-245 rwhp. With equal drivers, on a track, the mach would win everytime, but on the street, again, anything can happen.

I'd have to say you just out drove the guy. Whether he was inexperienced or it was a mock mach (hehe that made me chuckle), you were the better driver and won, bottomline, congrats again.

You would get beat by a 04 cobra even if he missed a gear or 2 and you were dead on.

 

maybe i would get lucky and he would miss 2,3,4....and bogg it taking off

 

Ive seen 03/ 04 cobras run low - mid 13's at the track.

 

Same here, my friend owns a '03 cobra and his best run is a 12.99.

 

I don't think there's any reason why you should be doubting a fake Mach 1, etc. etc.

Seems perfectly legit to me. LT's on the GT's, coupled with a full exhaust can really cause your car to pull once you get going.

From a dig, you would of lost I bet. But I see no reason what so ever why that's not a valid win against a real Mach. With that said, I'm sure the driver wasn't the best, but still a win. Congrats.

 

well once again thanks everyone..by middle of next year i wll have a kenne bell, blower cam, and some 3.73's..with a good tune of course..i'll go run that cobra then

 

I would say the result is driver inexperience also. If you take someone out of a V6 honda and tell them to drive the mach they are going to make the same mistake over and over again. They will listen to the motor sound and shift accordingly.

At 4 grand the motor starts to sound like things are going bad and people who dont know shift out to early when in fact at 4 grand things are JUST GETTING GOOD!!!

This is a rookie mistake I made in my car the first weeks also until my cobra buddy drove my car with me in it and showed me what it felt like after 5 grand. These motors just start pulling hard after 4 grand so if that mach you raced is doing this and shifting quickly then you will know what happened.

Couple this driving error with your modded GT and it equals a legit straight up win for you!

 

when i was at the track on viper/vette day i saw the same guy in a Z06 run 15.2... twice, and a twin turbo viper run 13s. makes you want to just take their keys from them.
