Default Ls1 Z28

On my way into town to purchase some car cleaning products i had a guy in a LS1 Z hurry to catch up to me at a light. He reved so i reved back to let him know i'de run. He hit it 1st as i pursued and pulled 3 or 4 car between 1st and 2nd gear then let off it. Good little quick run and a nice guy who didnt get mad after he lost.

Well if the driver of a ls1 knows how to drive then it should get down, if he's not so good then it's like racing a single cam honda. Also n/a to n/a i can run right beside a Z. If you had one pull on your cobra when it was stock....no offense but it was probably your driving skills. Other wise with good driving and great shifts you should be able to beat one depending on the other driver. Theres other here on the boards that have GT's that can beat LS1's with minimal mods.

u should tell the guy if you sprayed or not. I just dont feel right beating much faster cars and not giving them info. on what I have done to it.... Just kind of a respect type of thing.

^ That works for me at the track, but when it's on the street, if they start it it's fair game to me. They don't need to know then.

Nice run. those LS1's can run though. I really don't tell anyone anything, but if they want to look under the hood, i'll let them and they can figure it out.

Haha i'm not telling them anything! Around here we mustang guys dont tell anyone whats done to the car...Victums especially! Now if any of us loses yea we tell them whats done or let them look under the hood. Altho with mine i can open the hood in the day light and let you search it over....you wont find anything resembling Nitrous!! I garuntee that, only thing you might notice is the K&N filter and the HID booster boxes. I'll Post pics sunday hopefully of under the hood and see if you can notice anything out of place with me noting what and where to look at.

btw: compucar Nitrous-n-a-bag kit...the most undetectable kit made, Garunteed!!

Default Hmmm

is there a double standard here?!?! = if you had him even until spraying... i have lot more mods than you ( except nawz of course ) then I shouldn't get spanked hard in a worse case scenario. I looked up the differnce between the ls1 z28 and the SS and seems to be about 10 hp difference - however both have been dynod at the 350 range from the factory.

I want nos but i dont want to blow my shiznit up - how ever I was thinkin of a direct port 150 ???

How do you like that 80 shot? are you gonna stay with the sauce or go with forced induction - my boy has n02 but an empty bottle every night. lol

Z28's and SS's arent 350hp...modded yes you can get that no problem but not from the factory. The most any of them came from the factory was 335hp....270-280ish at the wheels. As far me having less mods than you and being side by side with him.....I have a feeling he was about to start pulling on me untill pushed the button. Right now i'm gonna stick with the juice untill winter when i tear the car apart and boost it with a sc-61 turbo.

I've seen a stock SS dyno at 300HP to the wheels. a Few mods and there about 320HP to the wheels. And if you pull up to someone and don't know them, you don't know what they have, you guesstimate what they have.
Thing about nitrous is the TQ it came produce.
