Default 96GT on a Z28

k raced dude 8th mile
my car (mods below) vs his 99 i think z28 with the LT1 and six speed. pretty much a vet. from what i understand.
so when we crossed the line my front bumper was even with his rear bumper.
so as long as he is telling the truth and thats what his cars got. i just got one thing to say. **** on LT1s they suck!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH and god do ford fans suck they suck ***** i burned one up 1 month ago and i just busted another one!!! frigging antifreeze shooting out of the damn radiator like mount vesuvious... and who knows what the hell happpend to my frigging power steering pump lid. frigging disappeared along with my faith in ford replcement parts!!!!!!!!! hey on a 90 degree day racing down the roadwhen you AC cuts out it means check your friggin temp gauge!! not run it another 30 min until your radiator explodes!!!
stupid ford parts GOD!!!!!!!
i feel better now

you tied a 99 z-28 6-sppeed with your mods in a non pi automatic 96 gt.....u sure it wasnt an rs v-6...if not.......he either spun his tires way to long....or that guy should be put in jail and never allowed to touch his car....btw 135 miles per hour is not possible in a 96 gt unless you lose you gov in your ecu.....

i have hit 135 in my 96 when it was bone stock. did that on my test drive. its totally possible. i did it on a 15 mile stretch on the way into the city. and i have done it multiple times on the parkway/expressway. actully my friend asked me if the thing had a gov. because i have never hit it. at 135 in overdrive at like 4500 RPMS. thats how its done.
and your probly right about the driver but damn that felt good. i figured it was they were just slow off the line. like the 1/4 mile ill get crushed yet hung in the 1/8 mile.

id have your spedo checked.....i could be wrong but i never got my 2001 past 125-30....the needle woul go so far and then the car would sputter and slow down......that was until i got the predator.....but to tell you the truth ive been told the goves are not so much a safty measure for you as much as it is for your engine........and yeah that lt1 stuff is strange.....my math would tell me your putting out maybe 240-45 hp and that z-28 is near the 305-10 hp mark......Do you have drag radials.....i mean i guess anything is possible in an 1/8th mile :tard:

98+ Camaros and T/A's have ls1's! The only 97 GM vehicle with an ls1 for that year was the vette!

Your A/C compressor kicks off at WOT. All our cars do. Unless you have changed the parameters of the PCM.

Maybe someone who has had one can chime in but I think the 96 GT auto was about the biggest dog Ford ever built. Should run mid 15's stock and not much faster with your mod's. A bone stock LS1 can run a very low 13 with a good driver.
Unless the driver was awful he should have destroyed you.

YEa, I dont know what that guy was doing behind the wheel of an ls1, but to get beat by a non headswapped 96 is pretty embarrassing. And, Im not trying to be mean, its just the truth. Congrats on not getting annihilated.

i didnt beat him my front bumper was on his rear bumper. i was just happy as hell with that. as far as the 96 it sucks compared to all the other stangs. oh and LS1 or LT1 i dont care its in a chevy. and i dont care about chevys. im a ford man.
speaking of which. did you know you can jump a 88 f150 4 foot in the air and land the thing on its front bumper about 30 times before it stops running? man wish i recorded that.
oh yeah my radiator blew on diff day. i didnt have AC on while racing lol
