Default Sub 13s?

Do you think it would be possible for my car to have a sub-13 ET with the following mods?

4.10 Gears
Lentech Valve Body
Full Exhaust with LT's
SCT Tune
Camshafts
H&R SS Springs
Traction

I'm kind of new to drag racing so if my guess is way off that's why.

you can get sub 13s with 4.10s, beefy tires, and a midpipe....you can probably get close to 13.7 area with that stuff you have...i know that csledd has just a hair under 300hp with those mods plus intake

13.7? Or did you mean to say 12.7?

Youll need to change out that h&r suspention and put drag suspention in, get some 31 spline axels, and some drag radials and it might put you into the 12s.

I pulled 13.7's on 4.10's,mid-pipe and catback and a mail order tune. On the stock auto no mods to the tranny other than altering the shift points

drag suspension...

and slics would work nice... buy a cheap set of wheels and slics on the rear for the track only

I agree that a drag suspension would help a lot, but even with all of those mods i dont think that he will be in the 12s. I think that you may be close but not all the way there. 12s on a GT, without forced induction, is hard to do, even if you have a lot of mods. Get heads cams etc. with the suspension and you should be there no problem.

12s on motor with a GT, is gonna mean bad driveablilty. Itll be a drag car, and not a street car really. I say you should just break down and buy a small supercharger kit like a vortech s-trim or procharger p1sc. Youll have stock driveability, and enough power to get into the 12s on street tires. Dont worry it wont hurt the motor

Thats a pretty ignorant statement. Theres plenty of guys who have 12s all motor GTs. It has less horsepower than a supercharged setup so how does it have less drivability than a car with more horsepower? Traction is whats going to make it or break it. Obviously you dont drive around running full slicks but youll be needing them at the track to keep your 60 foots into the 1 second margin.

What im saying is that his car will only be good and fast at the track. Drag struts and shocks suck in the corners. Itll be a bouncy ride. He still wouldnt ever get into the 12s on street tires or some drag radials. Itll use ALOT of gas, and still wont be fast from a roll. With a street car, you need HP and TQ to win. At the track you need a drag setup and sticky tires.

With a supercharger you can win on the street and get into the 12s at the track. Itll probably be cheaper than an all out N/A setup with suspension mods. You get to keep decent handling by keeping the stock struts/shocks. Also you dont have to swap slicks on the car unless your trying to run 11's.

Yep, I am running 12.50s and a best of 12.37 and I have a 125 wet shot. And I could not even get into the 12s until I went to 275s and 20lbs.air.
But from a roll it is all smiles. Traction is everything. Ya have to be able to put the power to the ground or it means nothing...

Without a nice stall convertor you wont be anywhere near the 12's. with those and a good convertor with traction you cna go 12's blue02Gt (where the hell did he go?) does just that as well as 03mustangt. They both have fast n/a times in auto cars.
