Default Z28 Killer?

So my friend has a stock Z28 Standard trannt Camaro. I have my modded bullitt. So what will my friend run with street tires and what do i need to do to my bullitt to beat him? I need to beat this guy i can't lose to this fool. Let's not get insane with the mods though k? What will he run stock, street tires, and decent driving with a standard tranny?

It's a 2001 Camaro Z28 manual transmission stock with street tires vs. my 2001 Mustang Bullitt with the 5-speed, street tires, and the mods listed in my signature. What do you guys think? I'm a decent driver, but still learning and i can't buy gears now cause i'm gettin them for free this x-mas. I am gettin udp's and probably a MGW Shifter this summer though.

With those Mod's it would be hard to beat him for sure. The gear's would make a big difference.

Lets just say you have your work cut out for you other than those mods you listed you might want to think about some drag radials since your not doing the gears untill X-mas. That will be your best bet beating him off the line

I think a TB/Plenum combo..I just got mine on and it really opened my car up!! Other than that I would definetly get some drag radials or slicks and do some weight reduction for race day! It works contrary to what some people say!!

Don't get UDP's, your car already has them.

if your not up for getting a power adder, eg. supercharger/turbocharger/n20
then i would say definatly hit up some drag radials, those 2v's can get some great holeshots, and if you can pull like 2-3 cars off the line he isnt going to be able to catch up. Ask spike, thats how he kills all his LS1's

If you can drive you can beat him now. I was dead even a with a trans am 98 with LID,catbback, and no cats when all i had was cai,h-pipe and mufflers. If his is stock and yours is modded like you have done you should be able to beat him. but were all assuming you cna drive good. Just go race him and see.

you'd better be a good driver, w/ just exhaust he'll probably walk you...either get a 75 shot or gears...

If you dont have any spray then hes gonna walk you IMO.....

Try racing him from a dig. Youll have a better chance there if you can drive.

What do you mean my car already has pulleys? Steeda makes an improvment set of pulleys for bullitts that i've heard are real good. I'll be gettin tires around August so not any time soon. Gears for x-mas so not right now. And parents will never let me get nitrous on there. I'm stuck with basic budget bolt-ons.

Since you just have some bolt ons then you should just try to get the best launch off as possible. Like a 1.7 60ft on the street......

If you dont have a shifter already then definately get one. They feel great while your driving and they make you shift faster.

A 1.7 60' on the street with street tires isnt gonna happen!! Just drive your best and dont launch at too high of an RPM or your gonna spin really bad. Hopefully your boy will miss a gear or he will launch too high and not hook up at all, i've seen lots of guys in LS1's launch real high on a radial and did nothing but spin while a little 4cyl walked all over them!

Why does it say in your sig that you have the following mods; FRPP 4:10s etc........ but in your post your saying you cant get the the gears till x-mas?

You should be able to take him. Ive beet a couple of Z-28s with just exhaust. There no problem, but if its heavily modded than :censored: your out of luck unless you get a power adder.

My parents wouldnt let me get nitrous either.....I got it and they never found out. You can hide it really easily, especially if you buy a small tank. Then just remove the tank when you are not using it.
