Default What 60ft times???

What 60 ft times can I get with a stock suspension? I may be using some 26 inch tall slicks on the back and stock tires on the front. Can I launch on spray? I wont put slicks on it till I have the rearend built. I may do that instead of focusing on a blower for now.... I would like to see 11 second timeslips...... I guess Id have to upgrade the clutch right???

With slicks who knows. Stock suspension is not that bad but I would think you might get some nasty wheel hop launching on the juice. I'll check with a racing buddy who runs 12 flat with a NX kit. He has stock suspension and 3.90 gears.

the only suspension mods I have is lowering springs and they say it hurts 60" foot times. Low 1.70's on DR's with the car booging. Should be in the 1.6's.
But I did not know what rpm to launch at. Only left at 3300rpms.
And I did spray in first, and did not get any wheel hop. 1.70's on motor also

I ran a 1.83 with Eibach pro kit and MM adjustable lca's. Stock springs are best for drag racing. Ill be running stock rear springs next time out with PA racing k member and coil overs up front.

The guy who drove my car at the track on stock tire/suspension came out the hole w/ a 2.0 60' to a 13.3

In his own '02 he's on Roush springs/Nitto dr and a NX 100shot out the hole 1.8's and 12.1

Man I want to run some fast times like a 12.1 . I havent taken her to the track yet but I have a hunch that it will make some high trap numbers......

a buddy told me I can pick up like 75 horses from ported heads, cams, tune, and longtubes while on the spray.

I think that the Longtubes would do nothing but help the motor breath. Im just running the 100 shot. I know for a fact that the motor will handle a 150shot if it was tuned. 75hp - 15 for longtubes(on spray) = 50hp that is the result of added fuel. So if the motor can handle 50 more hp of nitrous, then im positive that it would handle 50 from just added air and fuel from the heads/cams and tune........

hes talking about the fact that the stock short block is safe only to the bottom 400hp rang then its risky ****.

Yea I know what hes saying. Im saying that heads, cams, and a tune will not raise my HP level to a dangerous level. Also the motor will handle 420 reliably and actually it will handle more than that. There have been stock 2V's survive back to back 600hp runs.

I've seen the 2v hold a 150 shot pretty well same as a 4v but both were dyno tuned. We tuned the 4v with a SAFC II controler on a 175 shot and its got nasty on the dyno, and still holds it no problem.

The stock bottom end is pretty stout if treated correctly. Where you run into problems is spinning them too high at high horse power. The trick is peak lower and shift around 5,800 - 6,000. That's why nitrous is so bad (meaning good) it makes sick torque and you don't need to wrap your engine out to make power.
Our blocks suffer from small oil return passages and when you run them up high they can suck the pan dry since the oil returns slowly. That is why I would favor and twin screw on a stock 2v, no need to over rev it.

With all those mods he is going ot make some awsome HP with a 150shot more in the upper 450+ rang. That is just to much for the stock shortblock to like for a long time. Then again maybe he doesnt care. Me i wanna get 100k out of my stock short block cause all i have for my next motor is the block so far.
