Okay I have the Bi-xenon Hid kit for my 2006 ford mustang. I have a problem, my headlights don't switch from low to high when activiating high beam they just stay low.
-Checked the wiring if i remove the high beam wire, then when I switch to high they dont light up. So I dont know what the problem could be.


I could really use some help!!!! Whenever I try to do something 10 other things go wrong. Story of my life.

 

It sounds to me like you might not have the wires correct. Do you have a multi-meter to test the power coming off the car's harness? We usually recommend professional installation on items like this if you are not comfortable in electrical wiring because it is easy to mix up the wires and create potential wiring problems that could damage the product or your car.

Also, there is a troubleshooting guide in the back of the included manual that should have come with the kit. I tried to attach it to this post incase you misplaced it, but it is too big to upload haha.

 

yeah thanks, I called American Muscle up they emailed it to me. But my problem isnt listed in the troubleshooting. Aenyways I know I have the right wires because when i disconnect what i think is the high beam wire, I loose HID light when i go inside my car and switch to high beams. Same thing with the other wire. If i disconnect the low beam wire, I loose HID light when i switch it back to low beam. So i believe i have the right wires checked with the multimeter also. The kit just will not move the bulb up to high beam. I feel like for some reason I need more current draw because if I install a standard halogen bulb in one of the connectors, the bulb moves to both low and high but reversed ("high is low" and "low is high", regardless of the wiring)


Also I live in NJ if someone could recommend a HID shop or has had similar problems that would be great to hear

 

Hmm, If you are having problems with the stock bulb not working correctly, the HID kit will definitely not function correctly. I would have that issue corrected 1st before further attempting to install the HID kit. If you have a 2006, I am guessing you are still under warranty, so I would bring the car in sans-HID kit and have them check the wiring to your stock headlight bulbs.

EDIT: If you are looking for professional installation, you will find that not every mechanic is as good with electrical wiring as they are with your motor. For this kind of work, you usually want to go to a Car Stereo and Electronics Shop or some body shops for the install. Any body shop with electrical modification experience or a car stereo electronics shop should be able to wire the HID kit correctly.
