you need a cam and heads and intake badly before you get a chip. your heads basicly suck deek. If i was you i would serach around for some nice used performance heads. i see them on ebay alot. also get a nice upper and lower intake ot match. then save for cam then get a chip.or get a cam first for some extra power then a set of heads and intake manifolds. m ei would do the cam first cause its cheaper and i love the sound. but keep in mind when choosing the cam that you'll want it ot work with a good flowing set of heads later on.

thanks for the info,i was thinking it may be time to dig into the motor but thats where the money starts getting big so i figured i'd see if there was something else i was missing.i have 160k on the car with no signs of any internal problems but will probably go through the whole thing.Any other suggestions on rods, pistons, crank, other internals???any matched kits that are good?

summit raicng has kits to rebuild them for fairly cheap they are good pices. you might wanna check them out. also if you dont wanna get into the motor yet a set of under drive pulleys will add a few ponies. also a upper intake manifold setup ant to hard to install and will add some power. and doesnt cost to much you look around the internet i bet you cna get some nices pices for cheap.

I have a 95 and I would say, I agree with the pulleys, but don't forget about those restrictive exhaust manifold. I could feel the difference when I put headers on my car. Sounds better too. Remember, long tubes are better with superchargers, shorties are better without. :toothy9:

Is it different for a 5.0, because long tubes on a 4.6 are better N/A or with a blower.

heads ( their are alot of choices .....GT40 Y303 's are cheap right now from numerous places like buyfordracing.com , parkway ford , etc.... ) keep in mind that GT40P heads require exhaust modifications to work right because of the spark plug location also thumperoforangpark.com does a good job on porting the stock heads .....trickflow stage 1 cam is a good cam on stock bottom ends.......then the intake needs to be addressed , pretty much anything is better than stock in this department ....I have a typhoon which is a knock off of the edelbrock RPM intake and it works great and fit great and was about half the price ( www.professional-products.com ) , trickflow and holley have package deals which work really great too but are more expensive .....dont forget the extras you will need too and upgrade to a bigger intake pump ....some say you need to upgrade to 24 lbs injectors but trust me you will be fine ...get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and if it seems lean you can add some fuel pressure to accomidate it ....hope this helps

I dont know what your final plans are for the car, but we can get these cars relatively healthy w/bolt ons. Im shooting for 260hp N/A and am currently at 240 w/the bolt ons in my sig. Im hoping that w/addition of LT headers and ProChamber H pipe that this will get me REAL close. After exhaust I will be tapped out for bolt ons unless I do TB and MassAirMeter. The chip, from what I read, is not worth it until you have a motor put together that has a little more "go" built into it. Im sure you have heard that our cars hate cam swaps, but from the research I have done, there are cams out there that are "plug and play" for our computers. I'll keep ya posted on what I end up with.
