well you kinda answered your own question you need to change the fluides all of them. and then fix the chewed wires and replace the hoses and possible shoot alot of carb cleaner in there. as i bet the carb is messed up from sitting. but some cleaner might get it going again.

If there is gas in the tank try to empty it unless before it went to storage it was treated with stabil.

Definitely pull that tank and inspect it. Another thing you will find is that since its been sitting so long you can just about bet the farm that the valve seals have dried out and rotted. You will find it will run, then start to smoke. Then bits of them all i the oil.

I bought a 1970 mustang that sat for 6 years, I got it running. Next thing i knew i busted the distributer gear, Fixed it. Then the oil pump rod broke. I pulled the pan. And it was full of bits of valve seal.

Good luck on fixing it up though. I dont know if id put a lot of money into it though. 7.5 inch rear and the weakest of the T5's made if its a stick. But 83-84 Mustang finally started to get some ***** to them again.

I think its fuel injected, it says EFI on the air cleaner.

"Other big news in 1984 was the introdution of an AOD / CFI equipped GT. In mid-year, an optional 165 horsepower 5.0L engine with central fuel injection and a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission was offered with a 3.27:1 axle ratio. The 175 HP 4V version carried over from 1983 was available only with the T-5 equipped transmission. The 4V 5-speed was available with a 3.08:1 axle ratio." http://www.mustanggt.org/84gt.htm

dont be discouraged mike.looks like you got yourself a good project car just get in there and start wrenching away.you can learn alot here from these guys in this forum.i dont know what your plan or budget is but i would probably start by yankin that engine and having a look inside that bad boy.but if you just wanna get it running get yourself a chiltons or haynes repair manual they usually have wiring diagrams and vacum line routing info.
