Which is a good reason to switch to the caliber; it doesnt have a bad connotation as a "girlfriend car", "sister car" or "mom car".
(Possibly one in the same for our resident redneck greg)

yes, i agree. BUT, some people get defensive because they dropped more money on a cobra, so when you call it a mustang, they are like "Um, its not just a mustang, its a COBRA."

kind of the same thing with a buddy of mine. he has an sr20 240sx, and he HATES mustangs. however, he was looking for a more reliable car at our dealership (chevy dealer), and someone had traded in a Red 03 Mach 1. He loves the Mach 1 though. He keeps saying, "I hate mustangs...but this is a Mach 1..."

Granted, that seems stupid to some, but to people on the outside of the mustang-loving world, its a nice car because its a Mach 1. Same thing for Neon and SRT-4 ppl. some of them are like "no, its not a neon, its an SRT-4," and others are like "yea, its a neon ... but its an SRT-4"

... same thing with an Evo ... its still a Lancer... but its an Evo. Nobody that has one calls it a lancer...they call them Evo's.

still ... nothing on the inside screams I HAVE 500 HP! its kinda nice, but it kinda isnt...

i think i would still take a brand new c6 vette (power), and a used civic (practicality - seating for 4, etc) over paying $65,000 for a shelby ...

The car in the Video Was NOT the 2007 GT-500. I can prove it.

First, all GT 500 have striped over the car. the one in the Video only had rocker stripes.

second you could not hear the Supercharger wine, I only heard a wistle from the turbo on the Neon.

Third, this video stated that the 500 had a Pully / Catback Exhaust
Well the GT500 does not have a replacable pully, they are stamped on, to increase boost you must replace the supercharger.

And final..
Look at the GT 500 Rocker stripes below, the Real GT 500 the "G" and the "T" are connected the fake one they are seperated. Also look at the spacing, before and after the "GT500" there is a peice of a stripe there. on the fake one the 500 ends at the door with no small stripe

I don't see SRT-4's as Ricers, They are american cars and dodge did a good job designing a strong little car. but to be fair, it's still a Neon..

I have not seen one Riced out, Most Neon owners leave the outside stock.
and replace the turbos with larger one and add boost controls Ect. My neighbor has one with 20 psi boost and it has 90k miles and is still strong.
Sure he's a young guy but he's not your normal "Ricer" he loves stangs but just could not afford one.

Did anyone ever wonder, what make a "Muscle Car"? The original muscle cars were nothing more then secretaries cars....turned into speed oriented cars for cheap. That is all they were. In some ways, an SRT-4 is built more in the heritage of muscle car then a 2005 Mustang. I would never own one, but think about it.

Muscle is raw american power... large v8 gas guzzling engines that make people say "wow" when they drive by...

Muscle Cars are what this great nation was founded on...

that crap about being free from britland is a bunch of lies... it was... the musclecars...

really... what kind of american would have a tea party?

I did a lot of research on the Mustang Rocker Stripes when I bought mine I wanted an authentic 1966 GT 350 stripe, I looked into every version. The New GT 500's GT is based on the 2005-2007 GT badge the GT 500 stripe in the Video is based on the 67 Eleanor version

with everything that those idiots are saying in the SRT forum, and what ive read here, and the knowledge of engine potential and power to weight ratios... if he was putting about 430 to the wheels on that run, vs a gt500 (which dynos at like 460 to the wheels), the SRT4 is a lot lighter, and I believe it would pull on a gt500. then again, if you read posts ive left on previous threads, the gt500 isnt all that impressive, since it runs about the same time in the quarter as a terminator. the added weight kills it. i believe the SRT would beat it from a roll, whether it is a REAL gt500 or not. the GT500 emblem on the side being wrong brings up a whole different issue; but a 50-trim SRT4 is pretty quick, especially considering a stock srt4 barely loses to a stock 99-04 gt...
