Alright..so I'm wanting to put some things on my car..
Rims, Mustang Inserts for my back bumper... But I can't decide on colors.. My car is Forest Green (that dark ass green) So I don't know if I want to go with Chrome or Black rims.. And the inserts..black, white, or that chrome coloring.. i've also been thinking about repainting though.. i've got scratches on my front bumper from bugs.. and a few chips on my passenger side.. all are very small..but i'm thinking they are going to end up getting bigger.. I don't know if I want to keep my current color.. or go with something different... Opinions anyone? |

I totally agree!! If you do keep the same color, I would get chrome rims and SS inserts.

Just claybar your car, and buff the hell out of it.. Forest Green looks really good when it's all nice n' shiny!
![]() I really like the look of Black rims on forest green, it seems like it flows really well, chrome just pops too much for me.. Inserts, Go Chrome or the Darker chrome, depending on how much you really want it to stand out. |

Yeah just depends on if you want a bling machine or something sinister. If you like the flash go with chrome and SS inserts. If you would rather have a badass, sinister looking stang, go with black, black rims, black inserts, dark tint, tinted lights, ect. I personally like Black and sinister.

PCola: well no..there is/was a chance of me repainting due to scratches and small chips..
I was thinking of a different color.. But now I think I'm going to stay with my green.. I haven't seen a stang with work done that has the same color as me ect in my town... Everyone has either red/black/white/silver ... i can be different =D |

Have you tried a good strong buffer, and Meguiars Scratch X? mcmmotorsports posted a how-to video on how to effectively use it. Click here. This stuff works really well, if it is small chips, you might be surprised... I would recommend clay bar, and try the Scratch X, then give it a good wax. The Scratch X should atleast deminish the appearance of the scratches/ nicks. And, im glad I can help! Anything else, just let us know! ![]() |

I agree with Forest green and chrome.
Hell, if you want get a Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher/Buffer, some decent polishers, and a nice carnauba wax and with a glaze. Would set you back around $280 though. That'll transform your car into a real show beauty. Should wipe most of those bugs off, as long as they're not rock chips. Scratch X would also work, but it's very tiresome to do it correctly. It's not so much circular motion, more so rubbing it in until it dries up and becomes abrasive. After this, get a nice carnauba wax and that'll really set your paint off. |

Well, to be honest, I'm not willing yet to drop $280 on it.
With close to that much money, I could be doing some engine work, or moving towards it. Or, working on buying a gt or cobra front bumper.. I do plan on a new front bumper, a GT back bumper (for my duals) and a meaner looking hood (v6 hood looks too nice for my taste) But..I do have engine work, sound system work, and rim and tires to buy. I fell in love with the Green and Black.. and I think that is what I might go... not flashy, but will definately stand out.. something that I like alot. Since my girlfriend is grounded, and can't wash/color brighten/wax my car... I've got some meguiars stuff... Meguiars Wash, Meguiars Wax, Scratch X, and I went out and bought some Microfiber towels, and this soft rubber..water wiper thingy.. I know I've got more products to buy, but its set for now, especially since the winter is cming up, and I lack a garage. Right now it stays parked in my apartment parking lot...which is covered, but, some days i'm unlucky enough to show up and having to park with my car uncovered... |

As for the California wiper blade, yeah it works nice, but you also have more chance of putting scratches on your car.

I kinda forgot to mention my point, lol.
$280 would be a lot less than re-painting your car, which is what you were thinking. If you did re-paint you would be saying goodbye to all your other plans. My point was polishing and waxing your car correctly will give you close to a new paint job and still have money left for other things to do. |

swervo: yea, we're 17, she still goes to school. Damn report cards. Lol.
And yea, her dad makes his own wash/color brighten/wax .. so she uses his stuff..and i just sit in a chair for a while and watch her ;x whitethunder: true, after I saw the green and what i could do with it and how nice it looked, it changed my mind somewhat... There aren't any Stang owners here that I know of that have a nice Forest Green stang. Most of them that I see that have mods at all are red/white/black/blue And one or two Chammelion (SP) Cobras.. I'd be the first guy in the club to have a nice Mean Green Machine ;x I know $280 isn't too expensive, its just, at this moment, I don't have the cash for it. That and I get free wash/brighten/wax when the girlfriend isn't grounded. lol.. |
