Default Cheap Upgrades

My parents recently bought me a 1998 v6 Mustang kinda as a Christmas/High School graduation present and I am looking to make it look or sound or perform better as cheaply as possible. Im only a Senior in high school so money is pretty limited to use for my car. So far I have no upgrades on it except for a Light/Roll Bar (Its a Convertible) and for Christmas my girlfriend is buying me a cold air intake. Then today I was planning on getting a Shorty Antenna and a windowshield decal for looks. For Christmas I told everyone to just give me money so I could put it into my car so I will probably get around 100-300 dollars. What would be the best upgrades to get for that price? If there is nothing worth doing sound or performance wise then I might just go with some Billet interior exesories.

Howdy and welcome to the Board !!! Unless the decal says, "Windshield", please don't do that. As for performance with your sixer, gears would be the best bang for the buck and be in the $300-500 range. As for sound, check out the V6 section, there are a ton of threads and a lot of info regarding the benefits and hp gain, if any. For any serious hp gains, your looking at some kind of power adder: turbo, supercharger or nitrous. So, unless your ready to fork out alot of $$$$, I'd stick to appearance upgrades and suspension work, i.e. springs, wheels, sfc and such. There are alot of really nice sixers out there.

From your post, if I were you, I would go with things that are noticeable. For example, exhaust mods and rims are things you notice right away and completely change the personality of a car. For now, though, that may be a bit pricey.

I wish there was a such thing as cheap mods that did something

start off with a new antenna or make it free and cut yours. Get some rims and exhaust then after that start with gears and all the other stuff

Good call on the exhaust. You can pick up a used catback off of a GT for around $100-$150 and have it welded on for less than $50.

For parts, look on:
