Default difficulty for installing lowering springs?

I would like to install some lowering springs on my stang. How hard would it be to do myself? I dont have a lot of mechanical experience but it seems pretty straight forward.

it isnt that hard i guess. I did mine on my own with very little experience. You need a spring compressor to get the stockers out. And not any spring compressor will do. I rented one from autozone that go outside the spring and i couldnt pisition them right. The 2nd set went inside the spring and i had to rig it with bunch of bolts on the main screw in order to get it to work right, and even then i had to have my friend step on the axle to get that extra 1/4in clearance.

To get the new ones in they pretty much just popped right in, diddnt need the compressers...

Difficulty factor i would say is maybe a 2.
Pain in the *** factor hits about a 6-7

Yeah I agree, I did my springs with the help of a friend, Jack hit the nail on the head with the difficulty being 2 and PITA being 6 or 7 (I would rate it more like 8 or 9). In all though it wasnt bad. It took us about 6 hours to do it and we were NOT in a hurry either. We would take breaks and then stop for lunch and all LOL. One thing though that I disagree with Jack on is the spring compressor. I didnt use one at all to get my stockers out. I just made sure i had the car high on the jack stands so the A arm could drop all the way down then got a 2 ft long scew driver (pry bar) and worked it out pretty easy. On the back though what we did was. Once the car was up on stands and everything disconnected. The springs needs like 1in to an inch and a half more space to come out. So we got another floor jack and jacked up the oppisite side of the axle to make the extra clearance to get that spring out.

Like I said though....not hard but yeah big PITA!
OH YEAH! Do a search here and find the write up somebody did. I member its a D&D garage link. I used that "how to guide" to prep me for my install
