personally i would have skipped the cold air intake but for sure get the gears and then a tune and your dual exhaust will be great. Just make sure you do your research on the exhaust so you don't get disappointed and get a sound you like.

Default exhaust

i am told by several people that for a v6 engine magnaflows would be the best sounding. are there any others that you feel are better? or are the magnaflows the ones i should get?

from the forums here I have heard many people happy with the MAC setup as well. There are some sites that have audio clips of all different setups you can either google it or im sure someone will post the link when they see this tomorrow. As for the gears: http://www.americanmuscle.com/rearen...FRieWAoda0q0LA

Exhaust setups for the most part are personal opinion..

Mac is good
Magnaflow is good..
Basani
Borla
Flowmaster

All are great..its pretty much your decision..

Get gears.. 4:10 or 3:73 ..
Pausi trac for sure, so you aren't running on a peg leg..
I'd get a chip.. try um.. vmptuning.com I beleive thats what it is..
SCT Xcal 2 - or Diablo Sport are the two that I hear about the most..

If you are looking to spend big bucks on this v6 then you can go with a supercharger ( procharger, vortech ect ) or a turbocharger (i'd check out tmaturbo.com) or Nitrous..

For those 3..for decent setups and safe setups you are looking at some high prices. 1 thousand + dollars for nitrous

4 thousand + dollars for the supercharger, or turbo.

Is it a stick or automatic?
I think the aforementioned list is good but, you should also think what you want your end result to be. Are you going to super/turbo charge it - that may affect your choice of gears now etc.
Also, I believe suspension is a huge way to make your car quicker but people always seem to overlook that, and tires.
Just my 0.02c
Cheers

What are your goals?

What do you like to do with your car? Like to drag race? Autocross? Cruise and the occasional stop light run?

All these things will determine what you should/can do.

But I will say this if you want a quick V6 you will NEED a power adder (supercharger, turbocharger, nitrous) there is just no way around it trust me I looked for it and now I'm a nitrous user and will reccomend it to anyone who wants a quick car when they need a quick car.

I'm going to echo what CubanJumper said, you need to know what you want in the long run. Your probably just wanting a daily driver that can pound some pavement. Go with all the mods that have already been mentioned.
[CAI, Exhaust, Gears (3:73 or 4:10), T-Lock, Tune (XCal-2 or Diablo), Shifter if its a manual, UDP] If you want just a drag racer, then get a power adder along with the other mods for sure Nitrous, Supercharger, or Turbo. If its an AutoX car you want then just go with Suspension mods from MaximumMotorsports. Stiffen the chassi with subframe connectors, shock tower braces, tubular k member, caster camber plates, and springs to lower the center of gravity, Get a set of Hoosier A6 or R6 tires as wide as you can fit. And some driving classes, Along with some performance mods. Hope it helps.

You can get most of it from Mustangtuning.com (Americanmuscle.com). I know I've gotten to know my UPS man becuase of MT, pretty cheap, free shipping, all great. But I've used the RPMoutlet before http://www.rpmoutlet.com/newv6m.htm
And this place has some good stuff, Ive never purchased from the though. http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/
and I'm sure you can find alot of other places, but there's Ebay (be careful though) and UPR, just depends on who has the best prices usually in the end. Looking at all the parts can give you a good idea of what kind of mods you should do.

I like most of the suggestions here. As far as gears and a traction lok, it may be just as cost efficient to try and get a 8.8 out of a junkyard, many pick-ups, SUVs, or street tuned mustangs will already have different gears, and certain ones may even have 31 spline axels (much stronger than you'll need). One thing to remember is to build your car to handle the power first. Wheels, tires, brakes most importantly, and suspension, as mentioned before. Since you plan on staying NA, depending on your bedget, Super Six Motorsports offers port/polished heads, intakes, cam options, 4.2 and 4.3 stroker kits, flywheels, etc. I believe it's 1700 for a fully forged 4.3 kit w/ your choice of compression and 1400 for stage 3 ported heads and intake with a cam. Probably more extreme than you plan to go, but they claim 90 HP on the stage 3 "power pak". Check out some of the gear threads for a link to a gear calcualtor. It'll let you know how fast your car can go in whichever gear at whatever RPM with the gear ratio and tire size of your choice (how I found out my car with a viper-spec T56, 5.13 gears and 315/30R18 drag radials would still go over 200 miles per hour in sixth at the 7,000 RPM fuel shutoff )

ok i just bought the cold air intake from americanmuscle.com ( mustangtuning.com), the one thats 74.99. so i put it in my car and im thinking im ganna get a lill more of a beefed up sound out of it. i turn the car on and i get annoying hissing sound coming from the air filter. is this sound normal? and another problem im having with it is when im in drive and fully stoped my rpm's rev slightly up and down. im thinking about returning this one and get the K&N setup. what should i do?

That whistling sound is air being sucked in. Idk about the rpms though..as far as I know a CAI doesn't add much power..I would've recommended K&N filters...

Alot of people like that sound, but if you can't stand it return that sucker and get something you like. It doesnt add alot (if any) RWHP so you wouldn't be missing out on much. After I put my CAI it 'hisssed' and made all kinds of different noises at different RPMs but I kinda like it, just knowing that you can hear the engine sucking air. Sometimes when I shift (I'm not sure if this is the CAI or not but I think it is) it sounds like a small blow off valve, i like it, kinda wanna-be but whatever lol.
