Default 4.10s

If I want to install 4.10 rear gears, do I need a new gear carreir?

no you just need to get gears made for the 7.5" rear end and your good to go. I would however get a posi because its the same price to install gears and add a posi because the stock open differental will have to come out to add the new gears.

I'm contemplating 4.10's right now too.... I've got an auto 02. Post if you take the plunge. I want to hear about em. :clap:

Dont contemplate!!! Do it now!!! Gears are the best bang for the buck mod when it comes to making your car quicker in the 1/4 mile!!! You will run a couple hundred rpm's higher, but gears will make all the difference in the world especially on a stock six bang.

I'm considering 4.10s and posi on my auto 98 V6 but I read a complaint post on another site which said that the guy would run 3500rpms at 70mph (freeway cruising) driving an auto with 4.10s... Not sure if that is true, but if it is the 1/4 time improvement wouldn't be worth it for me. Any ideas?

Something is wrong with his car. I'm around 3100-3200 at 80mph.

4.10's > *
And yes gears are a huge bang for the buck mod and so is nitrous that's why I got that too
