hi... my first post on MustangBoards...

I've been reluctant to take the plunge for rims, and have been looking on and off again for almost 11 years. It looks like rim styles have caught up with my concept of what kind of rims I'd like to see on my '94 Mustang... Now I just need to ask about fitment...

My '94 5.0 started life as a V6 (if you were reading Super Ford in June of 2000, it was in there...). Because of the fact it was a V6 car, I'm not sure about wheel clearances.

For rims:
If I was looking at, as an example the Deep Dish Bullitt Wheel (17x10.5), I'm figuring this would be a good fit on the rear, but would I have to go with the 17x9 for the front?

For Tires:
I like a large sidewall, and raised white letters - yup, old school - and hate an undersized tire/rim combo...which Ford always seems to do... I have read that a 315 will fit on a 'Stang, but would that include my car? Just point me to a source for the info, or how to figure this out and I'll be thankful.

One other thing...

Looking at the way I would llike to see tires sitting under my car, (and I don't kow if I'm explaining this correctly) I think I want to move the visible rim flange out...so that it lines up more with the edge of the sheet metal than tucked inside, I like that deeper dish look. Did that make sense?

I talked to my tire/rim guy and after thinking about it over the weekend and making some measurements against my exisiting 235/60/15's, I think for the look I'm going for 15" is the way I need to go....

So my next question...

On the stock V6 (1994) Rims ( the 3 spoke metal ones ) does anyone have the measurements for offset, and distance from mounting pad to the inboard bead seat?

Well thanks for the info... I'll check on it further. I understand what you mean about 15's not being you cup of tea; I feel the same way about what I call "tuner" tires on muscle cars... just not me AT ALL.... LOL

I have 235's on the car already on the stock rim, and it really doesn't look at all like a 4x4 - I should post a pic somewhere - but I know exactly what you're referring to. Instead of the "4x4" look, I would like to think I'm getting closer to that 70's T/A racing look - something more appropriate to American muscle cars. I've seen a '94 that looks that way - the 4x4 look. Nice Rims, Nice tires. WRONG offset or back spacing..or wrong something. Looks like rims should be on a JEEP!!!

For this reason (one of many) that's why I'm asking so many questions about measurements. Rim's aren't like a pair of pants.... which you try on for fit and if you don't like them you hang them back on the rack. With Rims & Tires, most shops consider them "sold" before fitment...

Fortunately I have an understanding fellow at the shop and he's in contact with the (rim) manufacturer, but even they only have limited knowledge.
