I need some opinions. I was just going to add a hood scoop to my existing hood, but i decided not to. I saw some others, and for some reason the scoop doesn't look the same when its added. It looks smaller, and just, different.
So i am considering getting a new hood all together, but i'm not sure what hood looks good with white. Money is somewhat of an issue, as i'm only 18. I have a full time job, that pays well but not sure if i wanna spend a whole lot. I love the Shaker setup, but I'm not sure how the black hood applique looks with Chrome Wheels, so i'd get a Mach 1 hood, along with the shaker. (similar to what Jack is doing, minus the carbon fiber). But i'm not exactly sure if i want to spend a whole months salary on that whole set up. Any other ideas for hoods that compliments the white? Or should i just get the damn scoop?

The only other hood I like besides the shaker is a cowl. Cobra r or a 2-3 inch cowl would be nice.
Personally I would just get the scoop and get some headers or gears or lowering kit. Something that would actually make a difference.

if money is an issue and you want to do the shaker setup, the CDC would be the best to go. that can be had around 800. The karkraft kit i got was 700, and the hood was another 5 hundo. Carbon fiber saves on painting, but i figure buying an OEM Mach1 hood and painting it would be even more expencive.
you would save a lot of money if you just went with a Cobra R or Cobra hood or another aftermarket hood. i would reccommend keeping an eye on craigslist and ebay... |

Is the hood applique painted black? Or is it a plastic type deal?

Hard to beat the classic beauty of the Cobra R hood. Mine's a Steeda 3"

I felt the same way about the scoop as you did. If you take the time and have the right equipment, it doesn't look that bad. I added a billet grille to mine, because I didn't like the honeycomb that came with it. If you decide to go back to the scoop, PM me and I can send you some pics of the car after the install.
