Default boost gauge stopped working?

This morning I was getting onto the highway and I went to gun it WOT and the boost gauge didn't move. It stayed at 0 but I could feel the boost going through the power band. It was reading fine yesterday at 8psi. Its a Autometer Ultra lite boost gauge. I checked the vac lines and connections and they all seem to be good, could it be a bad gauge?

If it did not move either way, you may have a pinched line. I know you said you checked them, but check them again. Never heard of a bad gauge.

Check the t fitting's for the guage. sounds like it's either a pinched line or not hooked up in the back. Is the idle off at all like dropping RPM's when you let off the gas and it recovers with a sputter?

I took the gauge out and started the car and I am getting vacume from the tube at the back of the gaug. I check to make sure the nylon tube was securely in the T-fitting and make sure there was no leaks. I figure if I am getting enough vacume to hear and feel from the line behind the gauge then there should be no obstruction in the line. Its when I put the gauge on that I get nothing.

man I have gone through three guages from autometer and I am not verry happy with them . mine will work perfectly for about 2-3 months and than they read way off of 0 when the car is off and when i am at iddle it goes to like 28lbs of vaccum.

call Autometer and send the guage back they should replace it with another.

The springs go bad quick in those guages. Go buy a cheap boost guage from autozone or something. Atleast if you swap it out while your their and find it faulty you can just walk in and return it.

I've seen a bunch of turbo guys have the autometer boost guages go bad on them, go buy a DEFI boost guage! You wont be disapointed in that one
