What HP were you pushing? Was it built or just stock?

the passenger took the pic real quick. i have a stock long block for that and 3.27 gears. you can see the check engine light on, it came on after the speedo hit 150. i think the computer didn't like that run to much....

Sweet, i did that several times in my 95 GT, it's funny when your wife tells you to race another mustang on the interstate, you hit 150 and she's telling you it's time to slow down now.
But you sure your driving while doing the pic?? I notice your car is running really cool, also the ABS light is on, and it's past the peg which means the peg is gone. your car is reading like 170MPH??

nope... he's driving. pulling like 5200rpm in 5th gear on 3.27's should land him in the high 160 to low 170mph zone depending on tire height. By the numbers at redline he'd be seeing 179mph. He's also almost out of gas. My abs light is always on cuz I don't have any rear sensors... I also don't have ABS or traction control anymore. I'm pretty confident that's a real shot despite the low temp... could have just gotten up to that speed before 4-5 minutes had elapsed from the cold start.

Yeah they look pretty good. All i need is some pistons and rings for the short block and then ported and polished heads and a nice set of cams. Hopefully by that time i will be able to order that HPS 5.4 intake.

there's about to be a bunch of guys on this board with BUILT 5.4L's roaming the streets of america and a few more with hopped up 5.4's on stock lowers. I think this is goiing to be the next Terminator. Taking SN95's and slapping twice the tq in them.
dammit, giving me a hardon again.

piston deal is in the classifieds. Pick probe or Mahle.
I've also got a place for everyday pricing on Probes at 420 + 95 for probe rings + shipping. They'll do a GP too if we get enough interest. All it takes is 5 guys. I've got my piston money saved so anyone else should speak up if you're about ready to go.

i had been sitting at the gas station off the interstate with the car off for about an hour waiting for a friend and it was running no thermostat and the redline water wetter does a awesome job of keeping it cooler. since it was taken at an angle it was up alittle more then it looks. and yes i was almost outta gas after that one. the speedo was probably off alittle cus it didn't seem that i was going that fast, i've been 175 in a viper gts and it seemed alot faster then that, so i'm guessing i was doing 155ish at the time.

the GP price for probes is yet to be determined but it's basically the same price as the Mahle. The 420 + 95 is an everyday price that you can get even if you don't do a GP. I chased that down just for peeps like 97 cobra droptop who can't get in on the GP's I'm doing now but still want the deal. If you get in on the GP you'll save about 50-100 bucks over the discounted probe price and about 200 over retail.
I'm still debating between Mahle and Probe for my own use. Any suggestions one way or the other?

All i know is that they use Mahle pistons in the 03-04 cobra motors and people are getting mad power with those with stock short blocks. Don't really know to much about Probe though. I actually thought about buying the replacement pistons for the 03-04 cobras because it's cheaper and they would be mahle but can't get an over bore from Ford that i know of.
I talked to a guy from ebay today who has Manley Pistons for $401 but the rings are $136 i called to find out if the pistons came with rings because i really couldn't tell by the ad but nope $136 more. He did offer me free shipping since i'm military though.
I'm still not sure whether if i can afford the pistons right now so i'm still going back in forth on the gp. How long do we have to get the money together? If i could wait until the 15th of next month i could do it. I could set some money aside the next couple of pay checks and could do it then.

The Gp is going to take at least the balance of this month to come to fruition. Another 2 weeks beyond that shouldn't be a problem as long as we have a date in the same season that purchases will be completed by, too much further may be an issue since we're getting the discount for moving 5+ lots of product in a short time period and they don't have to "sell" them to you (I do).
Someone recently told me that the Terminators came with Zollner pistons but last I knew Zollner only made hypereutectic cast and plain cast which would have been the case for 99-01 cobras. Everyone else has said that they're Mahle slugs. I'm inclined to think they're Mahle's. Probe has a stellar reputation for really stout pistons but they don't come with rings so they end up a few bucks more. Manley are equally good. The fact that Mahle's come with rings makes me a little happier. Then I don't have to think about which rings to buy. I wouldn't worry about putting 800hp into a set of Mahle's as long as the tune was good. They have been known to break pieces off the dish rim under constant detonation but really.. who's letting their motor detonate that much? There are so many hundreds of guys pushing 600, 700, even 800hp and more from otherwise stock bottom ends on Terminators that I see any failures as just one of those things you get with mega-HP cars. Consider that 600rwhp (easy on a 03 snake) means a minimum of 750bhp is being generated (at least 60hp is required to run the blower at those boost levels) on a STOCK bottom end. WOW! That's a stout motor. And they're doing this at 6800rpm too, which only says more about the toughness of Mahle slugs. If you wanted to get that same abuse level from a 2V 5.4 motor you'd have to be trying to break it.
So, I've decided on Mahle. As soon as I get a couple more bites I'll go ahead and buy mine.
If anyone is looking for standard bore pistons, I have a set of TRW L2608F that are forged and lightly used but the guy that used them set his plug gap wrong and dinged the tops. Just sand down any sharp edges and they're good to go (had them looked at by a pro-stock engine builder and he's blessed that statement). Skirts are straight and they'll make about 9.6:1 compression with 42cc chambers. No rings but, comes with tool steel pins and round wire locks. They're 100 bucks to you guys. They're just as solid as any other forged slug. 11cc dish.
