Woot for new toys.
I just got a Samsung 50" Plasma and the matching Blueray player. I love new toys but me working in an electronics store may be a bad idea
Anyone else get any new toys that you're excited about?

Good luck finding anything better than it is now.
Our prices we have for Black Friday are going to be more expensive than our prices now.
Just a fare-warning. Remember that most places have thirty-day price guarantees. Buy it before Black Friday and get the same price if it goes cheaper. But without having to bitch slap some people to get it.
Did you actually get the 800 Series? Cause that thing is bad ***, as long as you don't touch it and realize how ******* hot it gets compared to the 600 or 500 series.

Wow a bunch of Sharp fans. Those are all nice TVs.
Yea I got the PN50b860 and it is awesome. It does getter warmer than some of the other Plasma's available but it's still better than the older generations.
For those that mentioned how slim it is the actual depth is 1.2 "

why would that be. that's *** backwards. black friday is a means of emptying inventory for the next production year inventory to come in. one of my good friends got her 52" sharp for just over $400

I wouldn't mind getting a Panasonic or a Vizeo before the end of the year. Maybe a 360 too, we shall see. I love getting new toys, it just rarely happens. My current television is an 18'' Daewoo...I wouldn't mind an upgrade.

I'm due to get a flat screen, at least a 42". I love the visio. I gotta 36" box TV now and it aint too bad, just too fcking big..
My newest toy is the programable deadlock for my front door. Just punch in the code, no key unless you want it.. My 17 yr old would leave his key under the door mat because either he has no pockets, or they are too low to hold a set of keys. Geez thats inviting a thief in. Everyone is happy. Plus it was fun installing it..

Last year I was looking at one of the Best Buy black friday deals on a tv and the same tv was at Frys I believe for the same price, but it was that price all the time. Just do a lot of research before you look at black friday stuff.
I just saw a commercial last night for a Vizio 52" LED tv I believe it was.

Vizio is a ******* joke.
Here's a rundown of Vizio.
No parts department, partially due to save costs but mostly so when you have a problem they can not fix your TV.
They have horrible ratings are far as quality in parts. When I worked for Sears we had one actually catch a lady's living room on fire.
It's the same aspect as in car parts. you get what you pay for. Sure the Pypes LTs are probably $800 cheaper, but good luck on them lasting and fitting correctly.
On another note, I think eventually LEDs will take over the market once they get the refresh rate of the Plasmas. Not the thin LEDs though, those things blow. The halo effect around bright objects makes everything look out of focus and the black levels in them blow. Plus, they're the most expensive. Bad call from Samsung IMHO.
Now the LG LEDs are amazing. Electro-static panel that is actually THX certified as a Surround-Sound TV. ISF certified panel for the most realistic color possible. 240hz standard, and LGs 240hz technology is the best out on the market at the time, and the price tag usually cheaper than the high-end Samsung LCDs. Awesome.
Now the Sharp and Toshiba and the rest are good as well, simply because the offer better lighting with less power and less heat. But I think LG is on the way to success with their LEDs.
I have a 47" LG LED and that thing is amazing. Forza looks like I'm sitting in the car, and all without the blur of my old LG.

But if you can muster up the couple of hundred bucks more for an LG or Samsung, than it's a much better buy.
#27
Ahhh I wish I could afford to buy one, or rather yet actually convince myself that its worth it.
How much did you pay Jack?
