I'm really tired of....
Gas costing $3.35-$3.50 a gallon for 91 octane. I'm seriously considering ditching the mach because I'm tired of filling up every two days. It's not that I can't aford the gas, that isn't the issue, but I'm to the point where I'm almost not willing to pay it. The car is fun to drive, but not sure it's $3.50 a gallon fun. Also gas prices usually go up during the summer right?....so would I be looking at $4.00 a gallon....probably.
I'm done ranting....anyone else have the same feeling?

Well, if you want to drive, you'll have to pay whatever it costs. That's why I get a little ill everytime someone complains about gas prices. If you want to drive your car which runs on GAS, you will pay whatever the going price is, bottom line. Nothing you can do about it. It sucks that you live in CA, but the prices are that high because demand is greater for it. It's like ~$2.70 here for 93. I was just up in Jersey and it was about the same.
You already stated the solution. If you don't want to pay the cost, don't drive. Otherwise, deal with it like the rest of it. I want to drive my stang so I will pay whatever the price is.

You can't get rid of the Mach. Find yourself a crappy little beater car. You can find an integra or civic for a couple grand and it will get you to work and back. Gas does suck right now. It's gone up just about a $1 in a month. My gas mileage sucks right now in city driving. I think I need spark plugs for one thing, but you know you will regret and miss your car if you get rid of it. Hell get a motorcycle.
Fight the temptation. My friend got rid of his 97 TT Supra and is driving around in a Mazda Millenia and hates it. Don't be that guy.

i dont even bother looking at the gas prices. but i would suggest getting a beater car. its the greatest thing ever. i love my mustang, but i love my sable even more when it comes to gas prices. my mustang and sable get roughly about the same mileage (sable has 150000 miles so bare with me) but the sable only needs 87. i try to drive my mustang less but it seems like the weather is getting the best of me. lol

If I actaully had to commute farther I would look into a beater car. But since my drive to work now is 6 miles roundtrip, that aint bad. I will however be travelling 40 miles or so roundtrip in the next few months. I might try and take my cousins car since she is useless and doesnt have a job to pay for the car.
Keep the Mach, get a jack-mobile!

Totally man. I spend 1,000 on this bad boy. and a little minor maintenance
Anyways, i can fill her from bone dry to full with about 20 bucks and that gets me around 300 miles. I average somewhere around 31-33mpg.
She runs great, she looks like ****, but runs great. I did have to do some maintenance on her, replaced clutch, clutch cable, and entire exhaust (have new cat conv at home i need to swap on) and rebuilt the carburator.
the transmission is a little tired, but i can get a rebuilt one for about 500 bucks after core swap. The engine is strong though, ill get at least another 100k miles out of her.
She is ugly, but she keeps the miles off the stang, keeps me on the road in the winter, and she is dirt cheap to fix and repair.
i think im gonna tint her windows though, right now i feel like im driving a fish bowl.
seriously man, DO NOT GET RID OF THE MACH. Go buy yerself a little beater like the honda, great on gas, paid in cash, cheap to fix and maintain, and best of all, you get to keep yer mach and she will staw nicer longer.
hit up craigslist, **** like this is all over there

I let my lady drive it the other day and she would shift around 3,000rpms each time....so half way home she says "You know, you've spent a lot of money on this car and it isn't even fast". ha ha ha ha.....I said shut up, you drive like a granny.

Thats funny. My gf does that too. Shifts at like 3000rpm and she has a civic that goes up to 7. Whenever I drive I'll kick in the vtec and everything and she complains, your gonna ruin the car. Marvin (yes she named the car Marvin) isn't suppose to do that. ha ha ha

ha ha ha....it's actually about a 50 mile commute with trips in between, but it's not a constant 65 mph commute, it's a 5 mph then stop...5 mph then stop. That kills the gas guage!
I think my mach is a blast, but it's not a $5 a gallon blast, and maybe not even a $4 a gallon blast.
Anyway, I'm done bitching about it. Thanks for listening

so after bitching about the cost of gas per gallon, what did I do? ha ha ha....went and put a few gallons of 100 octane at $6.50 a gallon in the car. ha ha ha.....Yeah, I know it probably won't do anything for the car, but it does seem to run a tiny bit smoother. not something I'm going to do often, but what the hell!

God damn man! I was actually surprised that gas was cheaper going down I-5 this past weekend then is is in Pleasanton. Went down to socali and was surprised gas was a good 10 cents cheaper. Man, I miss the socal women. I forgot how hot the women are down there. Makes me kinda miss living down there.

Like others have said...you bought a hiperformance vehicle which costs money to maintain and support. Go buy a daily driver; I bought a 2003 SVT focus and love it!! Very nice ride with the heated leather recaro racing seats, audiophile sound system, moon roof, etc. I avg between 28-33mpg depending on traffic in the ATL. my gas costs dropped a ton from 500/month with the cobra down to 125-130 a month with the focus. Not to mention my insurnance dropped from $1600/year down to $450 (went with a collector car insurance company; value stated policy and covers all mods, etc) but only get to drive it 3000 miles a year.

We get totally screwed by the cost of gas in the Bay.
