Default Thought's on HID's w/ projectors... look ok?

Well since I need new headlights cuz' of the fender bender ($150 for the headlights), I'm thinking of getting the projector's with HID's.

First off, I know most people are against HID's in the stock housing so here is a safer option.

The projectors would be black housing, and I would have those chrome turn signal bulbs, so they're wouldnt be an amber glow when the sun is shining on them.

Question is, would they look ok??????

they arent designed for HIDs and ive seen pictures of people who put them in anyways and they look like shit. the light output is minimal and it looks nothing like oem HID cars come equiped with.

Should I get HID with smoked clear corner or just say screw it and stay with crappy halogen lighting?

stay stock with aftermarket bulbs like sylvania silverstars. They are 4100k which is the same color rating as HIDs. basically they are about as good as you get.

The lighting is sooo horrible with smoked headlights though, which is why I consider HID.

And I agree they shouldnt be used with reflectors, but o well.

Ive actually heard when aimed low enough, you wont be blinding too many people. Stangmods also sells a 4300k kit now, so its pure white. Im probably going to pic some up come Jan.

i know this thread is a little old but I have the hid "kit" in my car and like madmatt said, when it's aimed low enough, I dont blind anyone. nobody flashes their lights at me when im in my car. more people flash their lights at me when im in my truck or on my bike and they both have the stock lights at the stock position. but with the stang I can see way better than I used to with sylvania silverstars or PIAA bulbs. the hid kits are definitely worth the money, just make sure you aim them properly. yes, i do have "hot spots" but the hot spots are aimed at the road instead of other drivers eyes.

i would agree from what i have seen if aimed low they are ok with hotspots of course but they still are alot better then halogen lighting.
