Does anyone have the MGW short throw shifter? I know a lot of you have Steeda, but I'm really leaning towards the MGW.....any thoughts?

Ive seen it, and I think it looks amazing. I cant say anything about it from experience, but MGW hasnt ever put out anything that people dont love. I do believe that my next mustang will have an MGW on it. Its just awesome looking lol.

Wonder if its a shorter shift than steeda unit. The blue handle has a shorter distance to travel since its shorter in length at the price of more effort to move it that distance. If you want a short shift just shift without the handle, if you can. Its all about leverage :icon_stud The unit is nice but too bad you cant see it under the boot.

That's a good point, I wonder what it looks like under the boot. It got pretty good reviews on stangnet. We'll see. Thanks for the response, there for a minute I was feeling like nobody liked me! ha ha ha Just kidding.

I have the Blue Handle on my MGW... unfortunately I don't have any experience with any of the other after market short throw shifters out there... I can tell you this, it's a very short throw. Stock first to nuetral is MGW's 1st to 2nd... Stock 1st to 3rd... is MGW is 1st to 5th...

Vert Lover: Thanks for the information. So would you recommend it based on your experience? I know that's hard to answer not knowing what other products are like, but just curious. Did you notice any additional noise when you replaced your stock shifter? I have a vert as well and it's pretty damn noisy so I'm not sure that I'd even notice it. Thanks

I honestly didn't notice a thing... I'd heard about noise coming through the shifter but I didn't hear anything... from what I've read from others, this shifter doesn't have the inherit noise problem other shifters may have.
But you're right... between the convertible... and my SLP Loudmouth and X-pipe I don't hear a heck of a lot ![]() |
