Default High Compression N/A

OK, I've talked about it before, BUT with MPH heads, Strong N/A cams, P-51 intake, and a built high compression block (14:1, 15:1?????) and with all the bolt on's including longtubes, what kinda power could a 99-04 put out?? Is it possible to hit 400RWHP? or even close? And as with the cams, something that could still be daily driven, not anything race prepped and a rough idle.

About 11-12.1 with a very well designed head with a working quench area is about all I've ever heard that will run without using race gas.

Thanks man. I'm just looking into the future and think it would be sweet to have a high performance N/A 281 SOHC

You need a stroker motor and some awsome heads, aggrisive cams, p-51 intake and a every other bolt on imaginable but i still think you'd be about 30 hp way from 400 rwhp. Look at modular depots ken bjones. He's got an awsome 2v and i don't think he's hit the 400rwhp mark.

You will never see a streetable 2V NA car that makes 400rwhp....period. Most cars that have over 330 are at least 11.5-1. Your already into race fuel at that point. 14-1? ARE YOU SERIOUS? On the street? haha..... :helpsmili

kens car didnt use any added stroke or bore either. you wont hit 400 but 350 should be possible. do a big bore motor,

I was just wandering what's possible. If 350RWHP is basically the most you can hit, I'm definately doing a blower. Just not this year.

Kens car was is no way shape or form anything close to streetable. For the street without race fuel, I would say somewhere in the 340rwhp/340rwtq range. That is a (7000rpm)$6000 or more longblock+ a $1500 intake+ $500cams+ $1000exhaust+ $200-300(or more) fuel system upgrade. Your looking at a mid to high 11 sec car depending on weight and driver. Not to mention a new tranny eventually, and clutch. Easy $10,000.

It could easily been done with a stock iron block, but the buildup I am speaking of was done with an Explorer aluminum block for weight reduction. The car currently makes 320+rwhp and over 330rwhp on a Mustang type dyno through a stock PI intake. Thats all going to change as this car is going to be the test mule for the Logan Motorsports sheetmetal 2V intake that I metioned in the intake thread.

wonder if you could use VT's 324" stroker shortblock for that build up to 400hp?

just a thought...

HAHAHAHA 14.1 on the street. Well, I guess its possible if you live next to a track where you can buy 115 octane at 5 bucks a gallon (at least). Just get the blower.

I know Jim very well. His car is very impressive. He pitted with us in BG this year. He bent his belt tensioner in qualifying and Tim Barth(from MPH) came over and fixed it for him.

Back to the 400rwhp question, I just don't see it happening, the 324 stroker may be the trick. VT actually did a build up in one of the Mustang mags awhile back and it made over 400hp but that was at the crank.
