I heard if you use spark plugs with a non radio suppression core that you will hear it thru your radio...

(I'm not sure if someone was screwing with me or not...)

its a short or interferance. Have you put lights or new spark plugs, or any thing that requires electricy. If this is the case go to pepboys or autozone and they have an anti-interference connector that will hook up to the power wire. Real cheap and worth the buy.

Not all the time though mind you, this has happened 2-3 times in the past week though. The louder i turn up the stereo, the louder the noise gets. At first i thought i must be hearing the AC. Turned it off and it was still there. When i turn OFF the stereo, the sound goes away.

Could this be some sort of a grounding problem?

Any ideas?
Speaking from personal experience with audio installation, Ive found a couple different culprits for the the noise your describing. A bad ground and cheap audio cables(RCAs). Did u upgrade to the MACH 1000 or factory installed?

You have ground loop because it acts with your RPMs. Get a ground loop isolator.
