Default J-mod installtion cost.

I was calling around to get quotes on work to be done to my tranny. I called this one place and they wanted $425 in labor just to install a tranny cooler and the J-mod speperator plate.

Please tell me you think this is way to high? I guess my search shall continue theres no way im paying $425 just in labor. If thats the case im not doing the J-mod.

Yeah... you can do it yourself for about 8 bucks.

EDIT: well, the jmkod at least, dunno about the tranny cooler. Shouldnt need a tranny cooler for a J-Mod, J-mod restores the tranny to its origional engineered specs.

Why can't you do it yourself? I would kill myself if I paid someone to do it.

Installing a tranny cooler has nothing to do with being under the tranny. Only thing you might want to do is remove the front bumper. That price is crazy, maybe they just dont want to do the J Mod stuff.

Well.....

if i were you i would go out abd spend $150 on a good 3 ton Floorjack. Then spend anther 50 on some good Jack Stands.

BAM,

1) you juust saved yourself $200 bucks,
2) You now have a damn good floor jack which is a VERY important tool.
3) you got a set of jackstands
4) you can now do the jmod.

That's what I was thinking. That this opportunity to have a good excuse to buy some equipment. Spend the money once on labor, or spend it once on something that is much more useful.
