Default Diet for your GT

Give me some weight savings ideas that perhaps i have not thought of.. I do not want to make a stripper car. I do like to drive it daily too so a/c is nice and an airbag could come in handy one day:P And i do like a radio
If you have an idea on what the actual weight savings would be on each would be awesome too.

heres what im thinking so far

1 Tubular k member
2 aluminum block possibly
3 coil overs
4 aftermarket seats to ditch my 80 pound power seat
5 possibly rear seat delete
6 spare tire and jack
7 aluminum fly wheel
8 aluminum or carbon fiber drive shaft

Remove the quad shocks if you have after market LCA's, drain windshield fluid, remove dust shields, remove pumpkin under rear end, remove rear seat belts if you get a RSD. Cant think of anything else right now.

airbags are useless once you have race seats and 5pt harnesses. I know from experience, you'll never come into contact with the bag if you're properly harnessed in. I don't use stock seatbelts anymore at all, so pulling those was worth 20lbs as well.

A set of lightweight wheels and carbon fiber body parts like hood and trunk would be other ideas to consider as well.

YOu dont have to have an aftermarket DS to remove the dog bone. The quad shocks help prevent wheel hop. But since you've got the steeda LCA's, you dont have to worry about that anymore. So remove them along with the mounting plates.

Also, its definitely a good idea to hold onto all your stock parts and not sell them. You'll never know what will happen to the car in the future.

racing seats with 5 pt harness, rear seat delete, air bags are useless when you have 5pt harness, is u have subwoffers in the trunk get rid of them, if your lookin for a better launch and to put some weight in the rear get a battery relocation kit to move the battery to the trunk, carbon fiber hood and trunk, thats about it since you want a comfortable daily driver

I think i would only use the harness at the track so the airbag has got to stay for the street.

i have read about people cutting out side impact beams as well to shave a lil weight but dont think i would do that without a cage. And prolly still wouldnt with one:P

How about speedglass-- says doesnt scratch like lexan and infact resists scratches with vigorous rubbing with steel wool. Is it transparent like glass or does it have that plastic "wave" look at different angles like plastic? Anyone know ? I know its not street legal.... But speedings illegal too:P
