stripes?

stripes?
Are stripes a factory option? I think they are on the shelby's or whatever, but are they on the v6 or gt? I was driving home with the top down 5 mins ago, and I saw a blue 05 with black stripes. It looked badass. Is there a way to purchase them online? Like vinyl? Or is painting them professionally the best way to go?

Thanks guys, but what are you opinion's on them? I mean my dad bought me the car, and he could sell it anytime he feels. If i decide to get these, and leave these on awhile and then take them off will the paint be faded?

Click the link. It will open a excel file with a master list of pictures of stripes. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/attach...6&d=1179879346

My mustang came with the 40th ann stripes, i pulled those off and put on a stripe roll from rallystripes.com.
looked great, just gotta be careful when putting them on
recently i pulled all my stripes off because the stripes started to look like ****. ive had the stripes on for maybe 2 years started getting brown contaminants in them.
the hood is the worst for the color fade, im asuming because of the engine heat, but after 2 years the fade is still minimal. The trunk lid, bumpers and roof of the car have almost no fade at all, you really have to know where to look and have just the right lighting and angle to see the fade.
other colors might fade more. idk. mine is black.
if you put stripes on keep em clean, it took me about 5 hours to put the stripes ON the car and about 24 hours to get all the stripes removed and all the adhesive removed as well.

definatly. If i ever go stripes again im gonna pay up. Besides, the vinyls look nice, but they dont shine under the clearcoat like painted would.
im just gonna stay stripeless. My mach1 CF hood should arrive wednesday or thursday. Already have the deftracing latching hoodpins, and tomorrow im gonna order up the Mach 1 shaker setup.
ive really enjoyed driving around stripless. I love the way the new edges look with stripes. but i think im done with em.

AWESOME PRODUCT WITH A PERFECT FIT... NOT EXPENSIVE AT ALL WEN YOU COMPARE THEM TO THE STRIPES FORD PUTS THERE NAME ON... AND THEY ARE A 3M PRODUCT... PRICE MATTERS, BUT DONT OVER PAY JUST FOR A NAME... I PAID LIKE 134 DOLLARS AND THE QUALITY WAS GREAT... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TIME IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT YOURSELF... TAKE YOUR TIME AND YOU'LL BE HAPPY

well, all i can do is comment on the rallystripes.com product and honestly it is a pretty decent deal. i dont know the quality of the other stripes though. they may well be worth the 150, or might be the same thing as the rallystripe ones.
the good thing about the rallystripe kit is it is just a roll of stripe. the pre-cut ones might be a bit simpler, but they dont leave any room for error. if you tear or drop a stripe on the floor, it is pretty much done.
i have about 6 feet of stripe left over when i did my mustang

that is def true but the company is cool as hell when i called they asked if i ever striped a car before on my own, when i told them now they said that if anything went wrong wit any of the pieces they would send me new ones no charge thought that was cool of them, luckily didn't have to find out if he was bluffing or not... from what i read though the striaght stripes off the roll really wouldnt have worked well on my car because of the different contours... 2006... might be bs who knows could be exactly like you said.. down side of ordering online.. dont know what your getting til it gets there

Hey, sorry to bring up a dead topic, but I was just about to order my stripes when I had no idea what width what to get. Theres the 6", the 8", and the 10". What would you guys recomend? I'm gonna go with the dual black stripes.

10 inch is a real bitch especially on the front bumper and hoodscoop because it will hang down the sides.
8 is about the best for 99-04 stangs in my view.
