Default Help! Installing Radar!

Alright. So I have an escort 8500 x50, and I just recieved my hardwire kit in the mail from ebay today. I think I have to "splice" a wire or something. I have the wire that goes from the radar to the fuse, which is connected to the ground and the t-tap. I was by the gas pedals, and there were tons of wires, but all bound in tape. It says in the directions to find a "switched" wire so the radar will only work when the car is on. Can someone please help me install this thing, or help me pick the right wire. Sorry if it doesn't make a lot of sense, i'm rambling on trying to remember as much as I can.
Thanks,
Eric

I Just took a bare wire and plugged it into my wiper fuse and tapped into that 5 inch peice of spare wiring. No sense to go into your oem harness if you dont have to. That way you can just pull it out in 2 seconds if it needs to be removed instead of ripping the car apart to pull it out.

Pull the fuse panel under your driver side dash and read the fuse layout. I pulled the fuse out, trimmed a 5 inch peice of speaker wire and plugged that in with the fuse, then tapped into that with the supplied hardwire splice kit with my valentine 1. I then ran the wiring up the kick, up the apillar, inside the headliner, and my radar sits above my review mirror. Its actually pretty nice. No one knows its there and its not visible to others.

Alright cool thanks. One last question. I spent about 30 min. today looking for my fuse panel. I was very unsuccessful. Mine is an 05 vert, I dono if they moved it or not. All I could see was the Amps for the shaker 500, and a tangle of about 20 wires in black tape going to the passenger side. I'm gonna feel pretty retarted if it was in my face. Thanks for the help so far Matt.

Alright i'll have to look again in the morning. I know I have one in the engine bay, could they have moved it to there in the 05 models?

No. Accessories are a seperate panel inside of the vehicle. Vehicle required fuses are under the hood.

After a quick search on google... your fuse panel is on the passenger side in a side panel.
