Default Diablosport Users in here

k my 4.10s finally went in yesterday, and my question is when i change the axle ratio for the gears 4.10 doesnt come up...in the manual it says that im supposed to put it at 4.1 for 4.10 or 3.7 for 3.73...well in my tuner the numbers come up as 3.73,3.90,and 4.09...so i put it at 4.09,is that ok?...i drove next to my sister and my speedo is still off by 5mph...could i change something in the tuner so it can read accurately or do i need to live with it as is? thanks!

Thats one of the reasons I dont like the predator. All their software is just weird. Do they still do everything in %? What about tire size?

The tunes that come with the predators are TERRIBLE. I wouldnt use it if I was you. Go ahead and make any adjustment you can with tire/ rim size.

yep i used the predator tune for like a day and removed it since im just running the factory tune with the axle ratio adjustments....would you happen to know if the XCal2 has the 4.10 option for the gear axle ratio change? if it does looks like ill be selling this POS..thanks!

So you guys are saying the Predator doesn't allow you to change your gear ratio to 4:10's....that can't be right, can it? I would call Diablo and ask them what's up with that. I hate how they do everything in %....especially the timing...that sucks. I ditched mine as well, went with a custom tune and loaded it directly to the cars computer

Yeah, SCT is the way to go, if you just want pre-loaded tunes, get the new SCT XCal2 SF, which has (3) Performance tunes built-in for all (3) fuel grades and allows user adjustment of gear ratio, tire size (revs per mile), Performance or Economy modes, and several other adjustments for timing, air/fuel ratio, shift points, etc. It also can be converted to a standard XCal2 when you need to get a custom mail-order or dyno tune. I noticed an immediate different in throttle response after loading a tune on my car with this.

Its true, for some reason its 4.09 instead of 4.10's. I use to have a Predator, then I went to an SCT chip, now I have a SCT XCal 2.

wow, that's retarded. You'd think they could at least get that right. I've been tempted to sell my predator and get an xcal 2, but it doesn't make sense for me right now.

Yeah, the most important thing is get whatever your tuner uses. Obviously you want your tuner to be pretty good at what he does, then it wont matter what software you use. MD has started using Diablo now too.

Do you have 17 or 18'' bullitts? Don't forget to calibrate this also. Also I think you could probably use your digital speedometer(by holding the odometer reset button at startup) and then see if your speedometer is the same.

I actually liked my Predator when I had it. I would still have it if Modular Powerhouse would've tuned with it. Anyways, 4.09 is what is needed with the 4.10's. It worked for me. Maybe your sisters miles per hour is off.
You can ACCURATELY test yourself to see what your true miles per hour is:
All you need is a stopwatch, a highway with mile markers and at least a 55 miles per hour speed limit.
Set your cruise to 60 miles per hour on the highway.
Start your watch at a mile marker.
Travel one mile and stop your watch.
Divide 60 into your actual time. (ex: 60 divided by 52.070 seconds=1.15)
Now multiply that number by 60. (ex. 1.15x60=69 miles per hour)

Speedo is off in this example.

Also, something I did with my Predator was turn the timing ALL the way up to max. Pulled a little fuel out too. The user changable parameters are not that risky. Picked up quite a bit. Just make sure you use 93 octane.

When you went to the lean side how far did you go? I did the same thing and leaned it out about 3 points and it started to get a little spark knock so I backed back to the stock setting,

i had DD 17" Bullitts but just today slapped on the stockers....and it still felt off, cause everyone seemed to be going faster or they were just hauling arse...but i am getting some 18" rears next week,so would i need to calibrate it for those?

Yes, and check out this site for tire size calculations. You can run 18's and still be okay with the speedo.
