Default Shifting Problems

I've had my car for about 8 months without doing any kinds of modifications to it, and I have decided that it's about time to beef it up. I just ordered a new cat-back system so I'm pretty stoked about that. But I had a question about my shifter. I have an '03 GT (5-speed of course). But I find it to be very hard to shift. The best way to describe it is that it is very rough when I shift, and there's no way of pulling hard into a gear because it won't go in smoothly. It's tuff going into 2nd, harder going into third, but 4th and 5th are fine. Has anyone else had this experience? Is it my shifter that's the problem? Or can it be my transmission.

syncros mabye. mabye you need a fluid swap. Youve got a warrenty, you could always take it in for repair.

You need to go get the recall done to the 3650 (thats the tranny you have). it will fix that right up. mine as well as most peoples 3650's did it too untill they get the fix done then its all good. ps i recomend learning to powershift while you are goingot get a free rebuild form ford.

I called the Ford dealer today and gave them my vin. They told me there are no recalls done on the car. It is still under warranty, I may just take it in to see what they say.

So I just call up the dealer and tell them that a technical service bulletin on my transmission (3650) has been brought to my attention, and they should know what I'm talking about?

Take it to an SVT dealership of a larger scale if you can. In my experiences, they are usually the better dealership to deal with.

Took it in to the dealer today. Rode with a techy, he said it was fine. It's all in my head I guess. I just must not be used to the rough shifting in rwd cars.

Hmm. I need to find someone with a car like mine in the area and have them drive it. Does yours grab at all when shifting? In the meantime, I'll contact another dealer and see what they say. Thanks for all the help!
