Default Dust covers

The rubber pieces that go on the strut are those dust covers or bump stops? Are they nessessary to put back on? Last time I had my struts done they were not put back on and my struts will bottom out now. So now Im lookin in to gettin new struts but if I need the rubber pieces then I wanna go those aswell. Thanks

I think they are the long skinny ones that slide on the strut. I dont know if they help prevent the strut from bottoming out!

I got tokicos all the way around. The fronts had just been takin a pounding. I really would to go with the Bilstein but they are so expensive.

I went to a ford dealership and the dust covers will run me about 90 bucks for both of them. Is there somewhere I can get them cheaper?

They look just like the Bilstein ones but I dont know If they are the same size. Are they from you stock struts? I got a set of kyb struts yesterday, so if they will work with the new struts then I will gladly take them off your hands. LMK

dust covers don't do anything really. Grime builds up just the same. When you do a coil over conversion, the dust covers are negated and removed, so they must not be critical parts.

Bilstein are pimpin and if you get a used set of 03/04 cobra fronts you'll probably cut the cost in half. I've picked up near new cobra bils for 200 more than once. They're really killer and use internal bumpstops.
