So, I posted some pics of my car with my new 17'' Fr500's and got chewed on for it looking too high...one guy said it looked like it was on jack stands, another said my Ford Racing center caps looked bad(whatever! they look cool) Anyway, so I want to lower the car, but how can it be lowered with the rear suspension set up that way it is? Quad shock set-up...01 GT. Is there a good kit to get 1-1.5 inches lower without puttin coilovers on it...I just dont get how the rear can be lowered with a suspension design like it has. Any ideas?

a simple set of aftermarket lowering springs like steeda's,H&R,etc... will do this no problem.

Or if you're really worried about it, get a set of lower control arms and get rid of the quad shocks.

the man speaks the truth.
I'd replace the struts with stouter units like Tokico or Koni or Bilstein as well since high rate springs on stock dampers will wear them out quicker and you'll be underdamped a bit (minor handling issues) but, you can totally wait on that for a while if budget concerns are an issue. FRPP B or C springs or Steeda sports, or H&R sports, or Eibach will all give you a nice ride height change and improve handling a bit. EDIT: Quad shocks are not an issue in any sense with normal lowering. You can remove them but there's no sense in doing that just yet. |

Go H&R and dont look back. I love them and have had them on both cars that I had and have had no complaints.

Thanks for the replies everyone...I think I will spend my $$ for hop-ups (gears etc.) this round and then worry about lowering the car...maybe not, I dont know. I wonder if replacing the Quad shock setup with control arms would interfere with the 315's I've got on the rear.

H&R Super Sports if you want an agressive drop that looks AWESOME or Eibach Pro-Kit if you want a drop that gets people off your back.

Bilsteins and H&R Sports. Matter of fact, just buy MM's starter box. Its EVERYTHING you need to lower the car the right way.

the front tires are 265/35/18 the rear are 285/40/18 with the bigger tires in the back it sat really high off the ground, and had way too much bulge so i put 265 s on the back i have to get some new pics up

Depends on what you want the car for?? Daily driver, or for the Drag Strip??? For the strip lowering your car will make you slower, (Weight Transfer) lowering the car for looks i'm all for it....Cars look tougher lowered, but for the track it sucks......
