Ok so this thug wanna be gangsta comes up to me after school today and says hey man nice ride, but my 05 will waste that thing like a go cart. So i was like b.s. , but i'm not sure. He wants to race and were supposed to go in a week or two. What kinda times do stock 05 GT's get with street tires and an auto trans. and then what kinda times with that same setup except manual trans. I wanna know if i'm gonna get my ass handed to me or if i can really put this fagsta in his place.

With your gears and filter you'll be able to get him if he's only running stock. The new GT's aren't all that more powerful than the 99-04's.

Actually they're substantailly more powerful, 05+ GT's will put down 310rwhp with just exhaust and a tune.

Now way 310 with exhaust and tune. We've dynoed one 2 weeks ago with C&L intake, C&L TB, Mid-pipe, Cat back, and SCT tune....290's at the wheel. Stock that are only pushing 240-247 at the wheels.

If you drive good you can beat him.

that's pretty optimistic. I ran into a guy the other day with an 05 GT...he had FR shorty headers, mid pipe, catback, cai with a tune and he was right around 300rwhp....so with full exhaust they can get around 300rwhp...I don't remember what is torque was, but it was only 308rwtq or something like that.

I think stock 5 speed GT's with a decent driver are hitting 13.5's, with DR's a CAI and tune can put them in the very low 13's and possibly 12's. If he has gears your in trouble, but if not you'll do just fine especially from a dig. Plus you have a weight advantage....not a huge one, but enough to make a little difference.

Those new 05-06s are nice and are definetly stronger then the 99-04s but just like ours they need a few mods to wake up!
I just ran an 05GT this weekend (he was pretty much stock except for CAI) of a 40mph roll i thought he would hand it too me of a roll and i pulled about a full car on him let off about at 105mph, btw i didnot spray!

I raced an '05 with Air intake, tuner and an axle back 5 speed.
Lost once, beat him twice with a lower ET but he had a much higher miles per hour.
