Best Way To Launch A GT
Hey, this is a question for everyone who drag races their GT's or pretty much anyone who races period. I want to be able to kill cars off a traffic light. What RPM should i drop the clutch at to get the best take-off? Also, should i take traction control off? I heard it can take power away from the wheels.

Turn off traction control for sure... Thats the first thing I do every time I start my car...lol I dont dump the clutch as it usually results in spin, I slip the clutch and try to use it to control wheelspin. With 4.10's and Nitto's I can get a good jump on many quicker cars on the street..

its means slowly let it out, but use good judgement on how quickly. As posted above, just take a good 10-20 min on a back road w/ no traffic and launch a few times. Good tires are key to a good launch, bc i can have a good launch but then once i get going and gas it in 1st, my tires still break loose even as I'm going 10-15 mph = not good

i slip the clutch out as fast as possible while easing into the gas so the tires dont spin and so the engine dosent bog you just have to practice but dont slip it out to slow and fry the clutch The key is to get the clutch out as fast as posible while not letting the engine bog or spinning the tires and no traction control It will kill your performance when you shift I saw 2 02 gts racing one with traction control on and they grabed 2nd and the one with traction control fel back a full car length just on the shift It looked like he missed a gear

Put car in 2nd gear. Rev up to about 4000-5000. Drop the clutch and slam your left foot on the brake. Give gas as needed to sustain with right foot.
Find a deserted road and go practice

depends on what tire you have, regular radials need to be feathered, same with nittos but can be a little more aggresive. with my et streets if i have been driving around for awhile and the tires are warm, 4-5K and sidestep the clutch.. Same goes with my 315/35 BFG dragradials, if they are warm they will stick...

line-lock = cheating :evil6:

its a device that lets you lock the front brakes (or rear if your car is fwd) and keep the car form moving while burnout out. this makes it easyer on the brakes that are spinning because they dont have any pressure holding them. so there is less wear and its also easyer on your posi to not sit there and fight your brakes to keep spinning both tires.
