Default question again

im lyin here in bed really thinkin hard about gettin a fox body. insurrance wise i want a 88 so i can make it a classic/antique car and get a huge reduction on my insurrance. however......can some1 tell me what they changed inbetween the years of 88-93 please? and in your opinion which is ur fav fox year?why?

for the record its not that i dont like carbs(but yea fuel injection is better) .....i just dont like the square head lights on the fox years previous to the 88. i duno why.

the 89-92 Mustang 5.0's had forged bottom ends.'

im not sure on the 87,88, i dont think they did, there is a lot of info out there saying it was 87092 and 89-92, be on the safe side and get an 89.

the 93's went with some hyperthertic pistons or some shit like that that dont handle as well, so fo fror an 89-92 and you cant go wrong

if you go with a 89-92 and maybe the quick kit 1 & 2 from andersonfort motorsports, all you gotta do is a little suspension and some 4:10's and you can probably hang with stock 03/04 terminators. The quickkit 1 and 2 packages combined bring about 330 dyno proven hp, and it will run you about 4,000

as for the 4 eye mustangs you dont like, a lot of people will swap the panels with a 87-93 and get the better looking front.

from what i understand those cars are almost like legos with how much you can do with them.

front end change happened in 87. 87/88 cars were speed density not mass air, so you would have to do the conversion if you wanted to upgrade engine parts. there were other minor changes that came about in 90. the front fenders and extensions changed, the rear quarter panel plastic changed in the hatches. airbag cars have different clusters, columns, and plastic surrounds.

88 supposedly had more horses then 89-92. supposedly 88 had 230-235 horses. but the 88's internals arent as strong as mentioned. ur best bet is to go 89-92 like someone has already said also
